Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceGreat accommodation in the center of Lisbon - the bed was super comfy and the shared areas were so clean. Ricardo was beyond helpful and fantastic at communicating. Easy access to supermarkets, nice cafes and restaurants. The metro is very near and you can walk to a lot of sights if public transport is not your thing. Would definitely stay here again!! : )

PolandNoise from the lobby and surrounding area. You can hear almost everything. During my stay someone was preaparing a meal and washing dishes around midnight. I understand that the owner has no impact on this, but it was an unpleasant experience.

CanadaNothing was an issue. They even had reminders to encourage quiet and respect for other guests.
Ricardo & Miguel super friendly and helpful and offered visiting tips and went beyond to send us information for our stay. Place is bright, cheerful and extremely clean. Room was large with very comfortable bed. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and equipment for meal preparation and guests are encouraged to be at home. Communication with hosts was always available thru Whatsapp and they were responsive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

AustriaWe were lucky our co-travelers weren't causing too much noise. A considerable amount of it can be heard in the room in case other guests get loud. This is a common thing in lower cost lodgings in Portugal though, so this place wasn't any worse than most of those we slept in.
- Beautiful room in a lovely apartment - Very friendly and helpful hosts - Perfect location next to the Parque metro station - Good facilities in the apartment, be it multiple bathrooms with showers and bathtubs or kitchen with basic cooking ingredients.

Very clean and nice place with super comfy beds, clean shared bathroom and kitchen. The room is cozy, large and very nicely decorated. Very close to the metro station and not too far of a walk to the center and i’m sure lots of good transport connections around. Very easy check in process. Excellent overall. I really recommend it!

IrelandEverything was perfect
The room waaa great size and even though the bathroom was shared it was very clean and spacious. Location is great. You are between 2 team lines (pink and blue) which connects you to downtown and the airport with ease. The host is so welcoming and accomodating, allowing me to store my bags before I connected for my flight. This accomodation is also right beside a very big shopping mall El Corte Ingles which carries all major brands under one roof. If you are coming to Lisbon to shop this is perfect. To access the night life you can hope on the metro and be at Barrio in a couple of stops and be able to come home to quite for a good night's sleep. There are cafes all around the location and an Aldi around the corner that you can get your supplies to cool in house. I will definitely be back!

BelgiumIt was a little noisy in the morning (other guests using the bathroom very early) The elevator was a little scary so we used the stairs instead
Very good and easy communication with the host. Everything was very clean, there was a towel, fresh water, good wifi, and a heater in the room. The room was big enough for 2, close to the shared bathroom, which was also super clean and spacious! There was tea and sugar in the common kitchen area which was a nice surprise for us. The host also helped us pick out a typical restaurant around the corner of the hotel and we could store our luggage the next day until it was time to continue oir travels.

BulgariaThe noise from the other guests was a bit too much for us, especially in the early mornings. The room is a bit cold, but it had a heater and plenty of blankets, so problem was solved easily.
The property is easy to reach and the communication with the hosts was pleasant. We were welcomed by Ricardo who explained a lot and gave us a brief summary on the most popular areas of the city. Lisbonera Guest House is located next to one of the pretties parks in Lisbon - Parque Eduardo VII. It has easy access to the metro station Parque and is super close to a shopping center called El Corte Ingles. The room was nice and tidy, had everything we needed. The toilets/bathrooms were shared but we never really had a problem with that since there were 3 of them.

SwitzerlandEverything was great, the room is exactly like in the photos and met my expectations. Perfect place if you have a long layover and would like to spend the night - only 20 mins on the metro from airport. The communication with the host was also great - all the details on the self check-in were given in advance and very easy to follow. Thank you :)

PortugalThere is no breakfast but there is plenty of room in the kitchen to prepare your own breakfast. I think an espresso machine will be a useful addition.
I've rarely found so friendly and helpful staff in all my travels. I stayed for six days to plan my relocation to Lisbon, and Ricardo was so eager to help that he even guided me on how to get through Portuguese bureaucracy. Lisbonera Guesthouse has a homey vibe; the guests I met had a friendly mentality, and we got to know each other as if we were actual roommates. My room (Bica) was spacious, facing the Antonio Augusto de Aguiar Str., but the double glazed windows did a great job of stopping the sound of the traffic. The apartment is beautifully decorated, and the location is very close to Gulbenkian Gardens and right across from Parque Metro Station. I definitely recommend it!

GermanyThe place was noisy because of other guests, but this was expected since the building is old and there is no soundproofing.
Ricardo war very nice and helpful. He always made sure that my stay was going well. The place was very clean and the kitchen was well-equipped. The mattress was quite comfortable. Although it was a bit cold in the house, I had a radiator and extra blankets in the bedroom which were more than enough. There are also enough bathrooms/toilets in the house and I always found one free. Around the guesthouse, once can find several supermarkets. Going to the city centre was quite fast with the metro. If one prefers to walk, it takes about 30 minutes.
