The pastries in the breakfast can be further improved.

The hotel itself is amazing and magical… loved all the hotel areas from the room to the lobby to thier beach club. Its a perfect destination to chill and relax and enjoy swimming. The room is cleaned every morning in addition the room service pass by late in the afternoon. I joined historical tour in the hotel which was great! In the breakfast the team were welcoming and the breakfast restaurant/area was nice. Loved the cliff sunbed area, it was the highlight of the trip! The sea was sooo refreshing not cold (Sep 2024).

Shower controls were in urgent need of an upgrade in our room. It was not possible to have a decent shower.

Belmond Hotel Reid’s Palace is an absolute bucket list destination with incredible character. The rock pools were a standout feature, and we wished we could stay longer. Highly recommended!

No clear directions in the property to go to so many activities in English. Need more signs. Also, it was difficult to swim in the sea because of the rocky high shores. My husband got injured from the rocks after swimming in the ocean. There were. No lifeguard to watch swimmers in the ocean, only in the swimming pools.

The service was excellent in the rooms and restaurants. The swimming pools were different (sea water and fresh water pools). The view was awesome.

Beautiful position overlooking Funchal harbour. Exquisite interior and exterior. Dating back many decades. Churchill’s favourite hotel ours too now , we will return.

There was a cocroch in the bathroom, and it was big, the shower faucet need to be improved, very old and hard to use, we booked in cipriani when we went there was no table available for a long time

Everything about our stay at Reid's Palace was wonderful -- from the moment we arrived everyone was so nice and helpful. The rooms and entire property were beautiful, breakfast amazing and the staff around the pool were so helpful.

We absolutely loved this hotel and had a wonderful couple of days here. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the facilities were fantastic. Our room was clean and incredibly comfortable. We loved everything about our stay here.

Plumbing was a bit noisy in bathroom and not a good flush in toilet. A hand rail for stepping in and out of shower/bath would be good.

We had a water leak in our room twice with condensation coming from the air conditioning above. They had it fixed quickly, but that would’ve been my only observation. I would’ve taken something off the bill for that or done something else for us, but beyond that it was absolutely fantastic.

Reid’s Palace is perched on the side of the hill in Funchal. It has beautiful gardens, multiple pools and wonderful dining experiences.its older and well maintained.

The layout is great if you need to stretch your legs but because the site is big some facilities are a distance from the main house

The staff were very attentive; nothing was too much trouble. The sea views were amazing.
