Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Lovely stay. Whilst we were there we had the most wonderful wine tour with a really knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide, and with a tasting of some lovely wines. Dinner was delicious. Breakfast too. We'd been meaning to visit the Douro Valley for a long time and were not disappointed!

United StatesWe stayed in the new modern building, and the room was very spacious, as was the bathroom. Bathroom included a soaking tub and separate shower. The room also included it's own little outdoor sitting area which was perfect for just 2 people with views onto vineyards across the valley. They had oranges from their plentiful orange trees on the property in our room when we arrived, and more available at the desks around the building - SO DARN GOOD! We did the tour and tasting (which is complimentary for guests of the Quinta) which was really nerdy (in the best way possible) - they've set up a virtual reality view of start to finish in making wine: picking grapes, cleaning them, processing, etc. I had a massage as well which was just ok; i'll admit that i'm more of a deep tissue lots of pressure sort of person, and this was more swedish style massage with some pressure. FYI the 75 min massage offered isn't described on the 'menu' very well: the masseuse told me that it's a body scrub with grape seeds, followed by a shower, then lastly a massage. Otherwise: definitely recommend.

United KingdomWe didn't enjoy the interior of our bedroom - it was timber clad throughout, floors, roof and walls, which may be a benefit in the summer for temperature's sake but it felt oppressive and dark in April. My partner is 6'2" and felt constrained. There is a snug-like floor above which has seating and a small window but we didn't use it at all, waste of time and space.
The views were stunning from our room porch, loved the sense of peace and tranquility throughout the living areas, and the smells cannot be explained, you have to be present. Hotel dinners with wine tasting, and also the inclusive wine experience, was the best we had in this trip; Marcus was very experienced, informative and fun, he took time to consider our likes and the opportunity to sample wines at dinner was excellent.

IrelandNot a great option for a vegan dinner. We had advised before the trip we required vegan food but still we were given a cheese dish and some butter.
Breakfast was excellent, staff are great and the hotel and facilities very good. Restaurant had a vegetarian option.

RomaniaA lot of ants in the room :)
The interior and exterior design of the hotel is beautiful. The views all over are spectacular. The quinta is really impressive. We stayed 4 nights there because we wanted to enjoy everything that the property has to offer. The wine tasting and the presentation of the process of wine production was also very interesting.

United KingdomFood could’ve been better but it wasn’t too bad. Just in comparisons to other nice restaurants in Porto. They should make it adults only. A lot of couples, like us, were there to enjoy peace and wine. Few kids on the last day of our travel were quite loud in the pool and sound travels in such a quiet area. So please, leave your kids behind and enjoy the hotel and wine!
Absolutely beautiful views, very comfortable rooms and facilities. Fantastic hospitality, great wine and the complimentary wine tour of the vineyard was even better. There’s also some trails you can do and hike which was enjoyable. Pool and bar are also great.

PortugalThe rooms were good but there was no differentiation, they are standard inside. The eggs for breakfast could be improved
The service is amazing, the personnel is nice and always ready to help. Couldn't ask for more The pool next to the river is very nice, walking through the vineyards and obviously appreciate the great wine and story.

United StatesWish we could have hiked the trails on their property but it was raining during our stay.
* Accommodating and friendly staff * Bang for your buck (a similar accommodation in Napa Valley would be $600 and up per night) * Beautifully decorated public spaces * Modern building architecture (we stayed in the new building) * Beautiful outdoor areas * Seclusion and quiet (we went in off-season) * Bountiful breakfast * Educational wine making and tasting tour

CanadaThis place was like something out of a movie. The views were spectacular. The wine tour included was really cool even if you are not one for wine tours I highly recommend to check it out. The facilities and grounds of the hotel were absolutely stunning. The dinner with wine was so good but make sure you go super hungry because they give you a ton of food. Our air conditioning unfortunately was not working but they brought us a fan which helped and they also took care of our drinks that evening. Highly recommend we wish we could have stayed longer!
