Quite remote. No other options within walking distance for food. Quite a lot of noise from other rooms even though we were in the luxury area.

Older style with atmospheric feel. Nice views, when not raining. Somewhat remote so had to rely on hotel fascilities.

Bed could be more comfortable. Very disappointing food in the hotel restaurant. However, restaurant service was excellent.

Friendly, helpful staff. Great location. Lovely grounds. Good bathroom. Good coffee/ tea facilities in room. Balcony with a wonderful sea view.

Our room in the main building had no ventilation or air conditioning which made for two hot sleepless evenings even with the balcony doors wide open. Both restaurants at the property are good but not great.

Incredible location directly over the cliffs of Santana with views of the rising sun and Pico do Ruivo in the background.

There was no air conditioning so you had to keep the patio door open and our screen door didn’t lock in place. Fine for the time of year we went but I personally wouldn’t book during hot summer months. They do provide a fan on request.

Location. The serenity. The staff, service and food were excellent. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable and water pressure was amazing. It was like being in a spa in a vineyard with exquisite views everywhere you looked.

- The room showed signs of wear, with marks on the walls and curtains - The spa area is quite outdated - The shower gel dispenser in the bathroom was inconvenient - We were disappointed with dinner at the hotel restaurant. The staff seemed stressed, and the quality and presentation of the food could be improved

We spent two nights at Quinta do Furão. We booked a premium room and received an upgrade to a spacious suite, which featured living area being separated from the bedroom as well as two balconies with stunning ocean views. We appreciated that the hotel offers a daily activity (like a baking class or yoga) included in the price. We participated in a wine tasting, which was enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was good. We could also choose egg dishes and pancakes & waffles from the menu. We also liked the evening turn-down service including the room cleaning and delicious candies.

The food in the restaurant for dinner was not that great, but again, stunning views abd great staff.

Although in a lovely setting the hotel is well out of the village and we needed a car to go to other restaurants or bars.

Although it overlooked the car park (with the vines beyond) the room was very pleasant with a balcony and plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space. The breakfasts were extremely good and there were several areas you could eat them in. There was a lovely view from the hotel grounds and plenty of space to walk around. The reception staff were extremely helpful. Packed lunches could be purchased at reception.

Need car or taxi to get there - 45 min drive. They are super helpful helping with a taxi though but of course more pricey.

Santana as a location is fairly quite but a great place to chill out
