I just didn´t like one thing in the hostel and it was the ventilation noise in the bathroom every time you turn on the lights, it was very loud.

The room was very clean and comfortable, the beds were good and the overall room space was pleasant. The breakfast was very good, in the rooftop with a spectacular view of the city. The staff is 5 stars quality, very friendly and nice. Recommend this place to all my friends and family for sure...

Unexpectedly stylish, close to the University, clean and modern. The staff was very friendly. They spoke impeccable English and gave us tips and directions. We ate at one of the places they recommended and it was very good and inexpensive.

Two things i can complain about *The walls are really thin so you hear the others very well in an annoying way *The breakfast was more to wish for, was simple but simple in a bad way. Or atleast for me

Lovely staff and lovely room. It was a wonderful room, with a small balcony with a wonderful view over the city. Pretty close to the city also.

Everything was excellent, just a sugestion. Instead of a list of restaurants and places to visit, we think that a visual plan of the city, especially of the historical center would be good to have a fast overview which makes easier the orientation. In other towns of Europe, it s a standard and offered to the hotels by the tourist officm.

Penedo de Saudade Suites is an amazing location. The villa is well restored with a lot of taste and art. Our room was spacy, perfectly clean and with all comfort you need to feel cosy. The stuff is very friendly, attentive and try to respond to the needs of the guests. The roof terrace for breakfast with an amazing view of Coimbra is one if the highlights of this location. You normally find a parking place in the street so that you don‘t need to reserve a parking place. When you stay at Coimbra, we highly recomend to spend a Fado evening at a Capella, with dinner or just a drink. Thanks to the stuff for our great stay. Everything was fab. Beautiful period property, with simple lines and so, so clean. Just loved the smell indoors. Has a family room for 6 with 2 good en-suite bathrooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good with unlimited coffee - thank you Philipe.

We would have liked a fridge to have cold water... There was a noisy family next door, walls are thin and the floor resonates.

The room was big and clean, there was air conditioning and a nice view. Free parking in the street.

It should be noted that the accommodation just out of town, up quite steep hills. Not a problem for me and my husband, but anyone with mobility issues, small children, pram etc need to be aware.

Beautiful views over Coimbra and to the bridge and river. Breakfast in the morning had a great choice and was delicious. Parking available free on street outside. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Shops and cafes a walk away in either direction. Room was comfortable clean and a great balcony

Could have had some more kitchen equipment to use as it’s a hostel/suite and we would have liked to cook in the evenings.

We were lucky to have stayed in a room with great view of the city. The hotel is located on a hill close to the Botanical Garden and to the University of Coimbra. So it goes without saying you need a bit of fitness for going up the hill, but that is Portugal.The hotel is quiet and located in a nice mansion. Breakfast was good, unfortunately not earlier than 7am.

The bathroom was a little small.

We had a suite with a very large balcony with two lounging chairs to enjoy the wonderful view! The extra space in the sitting room off the balcony was perfect for luggage. Very helpful staff. Great location in a lovely neighborhood, an easy walk to the University and its remarkable library and beautiful gardens.

Let’s be clear: it isn’t a full facility hotel, so no bar or restaurant other than breakfast. Used by students and groups as a hostel so can be noisy. Wide range of rooms, so book with care and try to talk to them direct, so expectations are met. It is located high on the hill,so be prepared for that

Location with great views, spacious room with large balcony, tea and coffee maker, good bathroom, good breakfast on roof and roof terrace. Quiet location with those great views, but easy access to the university and town.

I loved the decor of the whole place, the spacious room, with lots of natural light and a beautiful view. The breakfast selection, the presentation and attention to detail of the whole building.. Loved meeting Ema, Gabriela and Isabel. They were very kind and willing to help in any way they could. I only stayed for one night but walked away feeling that I had made 3 new friends. Their hospitality is amazing. I will be back for sure and absolutely recommend the Penedo da Saudade Hostel and Suites to anyone who values a very clean, beautiful and very well located place that feels like Home!
