Not sure if we would have had an option to take one with a balcony overlooking the river and paying more as that would have made it even better. 2 towels for a week for 2 people is a bit low. Luckily we brought a couple of our own. Also a few other things like cutlery could have had more. A few easy to fix niggle things such as the balcony door mechanism, leaking shower head, socket not working. A few negatives but otherwise great.

Location is perfect. Apartment was clean and spacious. Quiet considering the location. Had a great time!

Elevator did not work and my mother struggled with the stairs, stating you have an elevator and it not working is unacceptable. The air conditioning also did not work. Pull out had a very thin mattress so very uncomfortable

We had some difficulty with the shower. Perhaps some renovations at an early hour on an upper floor were loud. Host thoughtfully left wine but the wine key was broken so couldn't open it.

Location was amazing, building/apartment was beautiful and clean. Amazing views of the river.

Great location. The flat is very nice - it has open plan kitchenette and living room, and a separate bedroom. Small but ok bathroom. Views of river from the side - not front. Claims it has balcony but that is not the case - there is a tiny 'ledge' which is no balcony. Living room has a sofa bed that pulls out but make sure to ask the to provide bedding for this (we did not have it on first night).

Definitely could have been cleaner and better prepared for guests.

The location was great! The bottle of wine and box of mini tea biscuits was a nice touch. My friend and I booked this apartment for 4 nights in Porto. We arrived to a musty smelling apartment and the sofa bed was not prepared for us. It was assumed by the property us 2 gals would be sharing the same bed. Communication with the company is through a third party who has to contact their “Team” to deal with any request. We managed to find a mattress protector on the upper shelf in the bedroom and a duvet in the closet. There was also a pillow in the closet but no pillow case. It was very stained and in my opinion not usable. The bedroom had enough for us to share between the 2 sleeping areas. The apartment is stocked with the bare minimum. Only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel per person is provided. We did ask for a second set and was told they only provide 1 per stay, no matter how long the stay is. When we asked if we could pay to have more, the response was they had to contact their cleaning team to find out the cost. In the end we made do. Enough coffee was provided for 2 mornings and only 2 rolls of toilet paper. This apartment is small and only set up for a 2 night stay maximum.

It needs a deep cleaning. Being located near the sea and in an older building there is a mold buildup along the ceiling protruding into both the living room and bedroom and along the wall. The ceilings are at least 12 feet high. It’s not something that can be done between quick turnarounds. The mold needs to be removed and the rooms repainted before the start of the busy tourist season.

The room has issues with humidity. Clothing feels damp, even when hung in the closet. The bathroom tiles and the ceilings of the hotel room show damage from humidity and moisture.

The location of the hotel was incredible. You open the front door and are instantly greeted by the Douro. We liked the layout of the apartment - a good kitchenette, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. There was no staff to meet on-site, but the hotel was great at communicating important information through Booking.com without us having to reach out with any questions. Will definitely book this again!

More blankets or duvets for the chilly weather, but the electric wall-mounted heaters worked. Parents of children should be aware that the windows and balcony doors are opened by swing handles and have no locks.

Great location. Many of the sights were within easy walking distance. Excellent View of the Douro River from the second floor apartment.

We were traveling and did not have good access to email or wi-fi. I requested in advance information on how to access the property and did not receive the information I was looking for. The lack of information made check-in more difficult than it should have been.

We stayed at two properties by LovelyStay during a 9-day trip to Portugal. This was the second of two properties we stayed at during our trip. Loved the location and especially the view of the river and Vila Nova de Gaia. LovelyStay actively communicates with you through the booking.com app and responds to questions or concerns pretty quickly. We arrived to find a bottle of wine and some snacks awaiting us--I'm not sure if that is standard practice or due to some problems we experienced during our first stay at a LovelyStay property in Lisbon.

Sofa bed isn’t very comfortable and doesn’t fold up during the day. The room felt chilly even with the heat on. The apartment felt clean but also very “lived in” (scuffs on the walls, etc.). But this place is all about the location.

Ok for a couple, but bit small of more people and you need sofa bed for sleeping. Sofa bed suitable for small kids, not very comfortable for adults. Main bed good, as well as the pillows and blankets. More glasses in app would be good.

The limited side view which could only be seen when standing and looking out. I especially request the front view a couple of times also when booking. Only one source of soap at the apartment.

We were initially disappointed the view was very limited but got used to not having much. It did not look as good as the photos but was comfortable and we were able to cook which was great as with travelling we get tired of eating out. The bed was very comfortable.

Needed a lot more coathangers. We only had 6 for 2 people! Also some drawers for clothes would have been useful. I couldn't unpack most of my clothes and had to live out of my suitcase. 😞

Loved the location and the flat was very clean and comfortable - great bed and pillows! Was fabulous to be so near the river and good restaurants. Appreciated the bottle of local wine that was left for us too.

Lighting in the hallways was poor making it difficult to see the lock box code numbers. The sink was slow to drain, and the plug did not work. The shutter lock on one of the shutters in the lounge was broken and that meant the shutter had to stay closed. There was a rusted and broken table on the Juliet balcony. These details were reported to the management team.

Wonderful locaction, lovely views, clean and well furnished. Well equipped.
