Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

PortugalNothing major. We wish they have anti-mosquito nets on windows cause there were a lot of them. They really bothered us at night. So be prepared in advance with sprays etc.
Great place for a stay with kids. Dogs were kind and let our son to pet them. Many toys to play with. Area is very nice and quiet. You can go for a walk among olive trees right to the olive oil cooperative and buy some oil there. All attractions are within 15-30 mins from the house. Restaurant is in 200m (be aware of enormous portions ;)) And finally owners were a nice couple, very kind and helpful. They don’t speak English, but it didn’t matter. Highly recommended.

United KingdomHuge separate own private Bathroom was a few meters from room. It didn’t have hair shampoo/ conditioner though it had shower liquid wash.
Clean, spacious, lovely property and friendly / accommodating hosts. Our room had clean thick white bathrobes and slippers (like the ones you get in 4-5* hotels!)Bath also had jacuzzi system available to use.

United StatesI spent a lot of time reviewing the hotels in the area surrounding Fatima since it was the first time we would visit and needed guaranteed parking. O cantar dos passarinhos had an excellent rating but it wasn't clear through the listing that this was a room in someone's home. My first booking.com use.
The hosts are a family who were ready to help with any need and I was greeted personally at the front gate after ringing the doorbell. They offered a home cooked breakfast each day and were extremely patient with my poorly spoken portugese (I knew little). They moved their own cars so that we had our own private parking inside their gated area. The room had a double and a twin bed which were comfortable and an attached bathroom- exceptional attention to detail regarding cleaning, stocking of the room and bathroom, and dressing of the beds. Beautiful balcony available although it rained nearly constantly. Common area with games for relaxing including a small refrigerator and items for purchase.

AustraliaCurtians would have been nice. It wasn't privacy that was the problem because no-one could see into the room. The problem was the amount of light from about 4:00am onwards during June.
The hosts were great. They speak about 200 languages (yes, really!) . No language seems to be a problem for them and they've had guests from all over the world, some returning each year.

The singing birds surrounded us, with forests and a soft breeze. A gorgeous view above with our own private deck. The owner provided a ride for us into Fatima and picked us up.

EcuadorEverything was great. It is a little bit of a walk to the Sanctuary, but restaurants are close. Also shopping, and some of the monuments.
The breakfast was wonderful. Jose makes wonderful scrambled eggs. It is a very large property and well maintained. The hosts were very helpful on what to see. Jose makes a great guide for sightseeing. The home was beautiful and I felt welcomed and cared for.

The hosts were supersweet, they go through such lengths to make your stay the best ever. At one point José even decided to join us for a hike, he brightened up our walk with his knowledge en humorous jokes. Even though we don't speak portuguese, he is very able with the translate app. We really had a great time, rooms were very clean, comfortable beds. And I haven't even started talking about breakfast! Fresh (homegrown) fruits and homemade sweets, all with lots of love. José and Tina, thank you!
