Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Really lovely hotel on a treelined street in a very central location. Our room was superb with lovely views and a very spacious bathroom. The interior of the hotel is colourful and quirky and the breakfast was extremely good. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The gym ( small ) and indoor pool was an added bonus. Overall we were delighted and would definitely stay again.

United KingdomWe didn’t use the pool as it was very small but we knew this was the case so it wasn’t a problem.

United StatesThe hotel accommodations and all of the staff were excellent. The receptionist was particularly helpful, and helped us make dinner reservations for two local restaurants that we would not have known about without her assistance.

United StatesWe liked everything. Price had gone up somewhat since our previous stay a couple of years ago, but what hasn't?
The location of the hotel is central to the old city and many interesting things are walkable from its doors. It is located on the "5th Avenue" of Lisbon. The staff is very helpful and professional. They were available for restaurant recommendations or finding taxis. Accommodations are spacious and beautiful with views of the city. Great showers with plenty of hot water. Our rooms had seating areas with couches or chairs, so more like suites. Very quiet hotel and not crowded. The breakfasts were tasty and with local delicacies. We did not order a la carte, but I think one can. Great coffee! Always plenty of seating in the eating area.

United StatesThe only major mistake I feel the hotel made was something they did upon check in. We arrived around 7 am and I was not expecting our rooms to be ready. When I asked about the availability, I was told they would be done early afternoon. That was still before the time they needed to be done. Since we had been flying overnight, I asked if it was possible if we could have some breakfast. I had a breakfast plan but it did not begin until the day after. The woman at the desk said that would not be possible since my breakfast plan started tomorrow. She was 100% correct with that statement. I do believe that a better answer would have been we can offer you a coffee and pastry. This would cost the hotel nothing in comparison to the price paid the room. It just made me wonder what the rest of the service would be like. The service and accommodations were excellent and in fairness they presented us with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. This is just a recommendation since a little statement can start a vacation off on the wrong foot.
The Hotel was located centrally in Lisbon. At the beginning of Avenida Liberdade. It was close to the Train station and all major sights. The rooms were a good size very comfortable with good beds, and great showers. I wish I had brought my bathing suit since they had an indoor pool. I think a quick dip in the pool at the beginning of the day would have been great. The breakfast was good and our rooms were cleaned promptly. There is everything you would need and expect for this level of hotel. If something was missing it was just that some hotels have that little extra personal touch that makes you feel special. Greeting you by name is something I always like about staying in a smaller hotel. I want to say a special thank you to Erica at the front desk. She was very pleasant abd helpful.

Excellent selection at breakfast. Nice touch with cakes and port in the lobby for guests each afternoon. Good customer service demonstrated by reception staff who are very happy to advise best transport arrangements between different touristic attractions.

United KingdomThe view from our room was awful. It overlooked the bins at the back of the hotel and the back of nearby offices. Net curtains or voiles would have been better than the view we had. Also, be aware that the pool is not heated!
Breakfast was very good although the choice of fruit and pastries was less at the weekend. The staff were very friendly and always greeted you with a smile. The hotel was quiet and in a very good location.

United KingdomThere really wasn't anything to niggle about. What do you want me to say? That a decanter of port in the room might have led me astray?! No. It was a great hotel and made for a great city break.
We looked at a number of hotels around Lisbon for our 3 nights away. We fancied one with a pool (even if it were only a small one), even though, as it happened, we didn't get around to using it. One key issue, as first timers to Lisbon, was location. As we walked around (and gosh, did we walk) we found ourselves passing each of the other hotels we'd looked at, and each time thought: We made the right choice. The hotel itself is lovely: Room 30 is a big room, two, tripled-glazed, windows over the main Avenue, 3 minutes walk to the Metro, 5 to Rossio, 2 to the Funicular. Breakfast is the traditional mix, but well put together with good ingredients, and there's coffee, port, and cakes available throughout the day if you want to graze. Ultimately, as a base to go and explore, we couldn't have found a better place. The staff were smiley and helpful, the room was lovely. If I could find a fault, I'd tell you to add credibility to this review, but it was spot on.
