Single room had little natural light. Faced onto street opposite market, so was noisy from 06.00. No breakfast option. Nowhere to leave luggage after check out time.

No hot water :( which was painful at the end of Feb. Bathroom was kind of gross /old and we spotted some ants and a cockroach in it. Walls were also paper thin.

The balcony, location, and staff were excellent. Loved being next to the market, zone velha, and buses. Staff were friendly and very accommodating of our travel times. Beds met expectations.

There were little ants in the kitchen and bathroom, and the cleaning lady didn't come in 4 days... the stairs are always dark, there is light only upstairs. The shower needs to be renewed because the water comes out of it to the floor. The TV is not working

Sleeped there 1 night of the original 3, didnt like it because of the interieur (didnt look like pictures) and my father was not mobile enough to move 3 stairs to sleep with me (his Son) on a really small bed. After one night we would like to cancel. Owner would call us but never did. We had to make other arragements.

It isn’t clean at all. Too much noise from others guests and staff during the whole day. The shower overflooded. The room has a door/windows to an interior balcony where was smelly because of a restaurante located in the main floor. The mattress has fleas and bugs. It is a pension / rent acommodation where people lives there.

Firstly, the room did not match the photos, it was way worse than anticipated. We expected it to be a superior room but it was a very basic room, with broken facilities and low lighting. The toilet door stuck into the floor and did not even close. The beds were uncomfortable. The floor was dirty. The host promised to change the room but then dissapeared and did not respond to the messages until it became too late to make the change. The kitchen was greasy and unpleasant to use. Overall, it was a cheap deal but we would not take it if we knew what was the property like.

The only good thing about the property was the location. Also, I would like to thank the host for his recommendation of the Cuban restaurant which offered a very delicious dinner.

Got transferred automatically to another accommodation, their reason was that there were problems with the original accommodation’s facilities.. the place they gave us was not very welcoming, room was badly lit and didn’t seem very clean.

Room number 32. Room was not as advertised. Paid for a supreme that included a double and single bed. Did not have private balcony, beds were different from the pictures, much older and the single bed was an old iron bed that blocked half the entrance to the ensuite bathroom. Was unable to have natural light in the room due to privacy issues. Lighting in the room was poor. Inadequate number of towels had to ask for extra towels. There was plenty of hot water and clean bathroom however the sleeping area was never cleaned. Washing machines leaked water and left clothes.partially washed. Detergente and conditioner was scarce, when l went to wash our clothes there was barely any detergent and conditioner in the bottles. Was informed by email that the room was on the second floor but the room was actually on the third floor next to the kitchen and terrace where others ate their food and the washing was done and hung to dry .Noisy patrons.

This is not the hotel’s fault whatsoever, but if you are a light sleeper (I am) it’s better to pack earplugs. The fruit sellers at the Mercado seem to start working about 4.30am and they are rather noisy. Also, there are some local men just hanging around the area early in the morning, talking really loudly too. But I would still return to that hotel (and brought ear plugs).

We loved the location and the staff who were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, very clean, with a nice bathroom, comfy beds and excellent WiFi. There was a kitchen available - where you could easily prepare meals, we just used it to make coffee. We had a brilliant view from the balcony on the Mercado dos Lavradores. We would happily return to Funchal 19 when next in Madeira.

We didn’t like that beds were making really bad and loud noices. It was really loud. We also heard our neighbours cause walls were like paper. Fridge was always full and one time someone spilled juice on our food in fridge! The accomodation wasn’t exactly like in the pictures.

We really liked that we were close to market, cafes, ocean and the centre. It was really good. Everything was close.Personal was really helpfull and sweet. We had really big balcony which was huge plus for us. Our room was clean.
