The hotel is in a strategic position at Horta. Highlight of the structure is the swimming pool with a panoramic view on Pico volcano, very nice during sunrise and Sunset. Everything in the hotel works well, especially the rich and diversified breakfast.

rooms need to be updated. we stayed in two diff rooms given reservation. one of them is old and the patio is not well maintained. wouldn’t stay there again.

I have to say that the ratio of price/quality is not good. the room needs to be updated. it’s just ok, wouldn’t stay there again. the breakfast is very good. the staff is nice, not super friendly.

The facilities were a bit worn and "old style", although it depends on personal preference. I thought having a kettle or a coffee machine in the room would be nice. The bust driver (not the hotel's employee) complained about the narrow road leading to the hotel and almost refused to take me there. Thus, I suspect the access to the hotel may be a bit complicated.

Both the room and the private terrace were very, very spacious. The breakfast was excellent: diverse and of good quality. The location was very central (with the stairs from the hotel leading almost directly to the famous Peter's Cafe and the wonderful marina). There was a large swimming pool with a nice view available. Check out at 12 pm was very convenient.

If I'm being picky the sun loungers were very hard so a bit uncomfortable

Rooms & part of the public space require renovation Seems like there is not enough staff to handle so many guests and as a result you see things not being handled properly when it comes to cleaning (rooms, plates, public restrooms)

The room we got did not have a couch or sofa so when we were in the room we had no choice but to sit in the beds.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff very conveniently located near the main harbor in Horta. Very good breakfast with a vast collection, good bar, good and quick room service, excellent staff at the reception who took care of all questions we had.

There seemed to be no surveillance on the usage of the pool and gym. This led to the use of the pool by some people without wearing a swimming cap and also to the use of the fitness room bij youth, who were still wet from swimming.

I can perfectly understand why this is a 4 star-hotel: everything was just great, from the spacey rooms to the friendliness of the staff to the great breakfast ánd very good lunch and diner foodquality. I would go there again if I’d come back to Horta

No response to my preferences for details on room requests. So we never knew what we were going to have, or if it would work for us. We were put in a dark small room, but staff made every effort to make it better, and did move us to a much better room. Breakfast room gets too crowded, so you need another coffee machine. Breakfast food is cold, need more sterno cans to keep the big dishes warm. A very simple solution. I manage a hotel in central Mexico, so I look for details. Good breakfast selection. Amazing attentive staff team.

My only complaint is that the hotel is in dire need of being upgraded. There's nothing wrong with it but it's very dated and takes you back to the 1980s.

This is a great property up on a hill near everything in Horta. I had a spacious room on the second floor with a lovely balcony and view of the harbor. I was going to pay 40 euros for a sea view of Pico island but I'm glad I didn't. It was overcast and Pico wasn't visible at all during the three days I stayed. The hotel grounds are spacious and parking was free. The location is amazing. Breakfast was included and I loved the selection of food. The hotel staff were nice.

Although a great selection for breakfast overall, the cooked breakfast didn't have much choice for vegans and it wasn't hot, more like tepid in temperature..

In our room, the heating worked not properly but when asking we got immediately special heating device to fix the problem. Otherwise, no complaints.

Really nice resort hotel. We were located in a villa with 10 rooms only resulting in a silent location. The room is spacious with all necessary included, from the fridge, a sef up to the usb plugs for fast charging your mobile phone. The room was somehow "used" and not well maintained but really clean. I saw several better 4-star hotels, therefore I would rate this one with 3-stars. However, the hotel has really friendly and helpful staff and offers definitely a 4-star tasty breakfast. To recommend as a good starting point for a short stay on Faial.
