Room wasn't very big and would have been great to have an extra armchair to sit on as an alternative to the bed. The gym is rather small with outdated machinery.

The spa consists of a little bit old equipment. You can ear everything from the other rooms. Literally everything (toilets, etc)

The hotel needs some facelift and maintenance as a few things were not working. The sondproofing is really bad, we could hear what's going on in the adjacent rooms. Bar and restaurant staff were not too polite and a bit unprofessional.

The amazing views near the hotel, lots of hiking routes for nature lovers. Great swimming pool.

Evening meals were a disaster, and we listened to other persons also complaining. Restaurant manager, waste of time. Young staff with no or little training needs. Delivering food but they had no idea what was on the plate. Meals had been selected and wrong meals prepared. Then told another wait for 30 minutes. Two of us went without food. On another evening, no beer on tap as empty. Staff didn’t know how to change it over. 1 hr 15 minutes waiting for drinks, 7pm to 8.15pm. Thank goodness for Romeo who tried his best to assist everyone. Thanks to chef Elizabeth who came to speak to us to assist. Breakfast each day was poor, cold. We were looking to take our wives next time. That won’t be happening. Too many problems and so many persons complaining. Sorry. Was a great hotel before.

After a long day riding we booked our dinner, and it took a while for our food to come out and some of the food orders where wrong so had to wait longer.

Menus could be a little more varied, some waiting staff need more training, we preferred to eat in the nearby Pedrogao Grande instead of the restaurant.

Location and views are superb, pool and spa great. Rooms are nice, well cleaned and big bed. A very nice touch was a bottle of champagne left for my partners Birthday , nice surprise:)

I found some issues with the glass door/windows they were not closing very well and we found a bug inside the room on the second day.

Mostly we liked everything except the dreadful ‘Muzak’ during breakfast.

We had twin beds that were larger than normal singles and comfortable, lovely view from our balcony, very clean throughout and all the staff were pleasant and helpful ample parking spaces and lots of beds and chairs round the pool. Excellent breakfast both cooked and continental. We spent three days here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

In the pool people don’t complain with the pool hours for children. In the bedroom, the bathroom always smell bad.

There weren't flippers available to use the spa, and there are specific schedules for children to use the spa area, and they were not respected. A place where is supposed to be quiet and relaxing was filled with children and there was no staff present to remind people of the schedules (which are written in several places). The area surrounding the interior pool is very slippery if you're walking barefoot,my partner even fell 😕 Our suggestion is that someone from the staff should be allocated to the spa area to manage things, since not everyone has common sense. We understand that it's low season, although it would made a huge impact in our spa experience.

The view is absolutely stunning and the surroundings are very quiet ,you can only hear the birds singing... The restaurant and breakfast were really good, the staff was very helpful and very welcoming and accommodating.

Poor wifi. The temperature of the indoor pool/place was really inconsistent, the first and last day it was warm (inside and on the pool, but the rest was really cold, we almost got sick because of the abrupt change of temperatures, imagine leaving the sauna or the turkish bath with temperatures around 50/60 degrees and the overall temperature of the indoor is 20 degrees.)

The room is very minimalistic with no decoration at all, and additional equipment could be provided like hairdryer, or water boiler for example. You need to go outside to the reception to get hot water or coffee.
