Spa needed to warmer. Water that came through the various massage jets was often cold.

Warm, welcoming and beautifully decorated to blend original elements with modern comforts. Staff exceptionally kind and helpful and I loved the general quiet atmosphere.

It was quite difficult to contact the property by phone. I tried calling about six times while driving there, but couldn’t get through. Eventually, they called me back, which I appreciated, but for a 5-star property, I expected a more responsive approach. We had dinner at the restaurant on our first night. The meal was good, but for a 5-star hotel, I was expecting more in terms of the menu variety and the quality of the food. It was enjoyable, but not quite up to 5-star standards. (In my opinion of course) On Sunday morning, the sauna wasn’t functioning properly—it wasn’t as hot as it should have been. Unfortunately, I ended up not using it.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of options and high-quality ingredients. Everything was spotless and impeccably clean. The spa was very quiet and peaceful, providing a perfect atmosphere for relaxation. We visited twice and had the space entirely to ourselves, which made it even more enjoyable.

We deliberately chose to stay there again. The last time everything was great. This time though, there was NO restaurant service for the guests, only service for tour groups. A nice hotel with no restaurant service for the guests? We won't stay there again.

A truly charming boutique hotel, within a stunningly restored 1500's convent, with a relaxing pool and spa, and excellent breakfast. The rooms are well appointed, very spacious, and all of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. The in-house restaurant and bar are also excellent, probably the best in the area.

To be honest I could not find any negative points The facilities were excellent, the staff absolutely attentive and amazing. Dinning and bar food was superb. Value for money, the best ever I have found. Congratulations to the team who looked after us so well !!

Breakfast was served in the central atrium which was a lovely location. The buffet had a very good selection of food. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This hotel, right by the bike path, is a delightful find in a charming area. The facilities exceeded my expectations, offering a clean, private, and quiet retreat. The room was spacious, featuring a wonderfully comfortable king-size bed. The breakfast was fantastic, fresh and tasty. The interior design perfectly captures the historical charm. I'm already looking forward to coming back soon. Highly recommended!

Room is equipped with a smoke detector which has 2 red flashing lights just above the bed. By the time we noticed it was too late to tell reception but next day upon request they covered it for which we had to sign an agreement. Guests should be made aware of this to avoid having a sleepless night. Not everybody will mind but at least you have a chance for a good night sleep.

The hotel is in a beautiful location where you can see spectacular sunrises with the morning fog covering the valley. The room was beautiful and spacious. We had a birthday dinner at the restaurant and were given a birthday cake for free which was wonderful. The outdoor pool is big and looked very inviting but we didn't use it as it was a little bit too cold for us.

The Hotel is a beautifully converted convent with views from the side to the Serra das Estrelas mountains. The interior is tastefully decorated and the rooms are modern spacious quiet with en suite. The bed was comfortable. With an indoor pool and spa sauna & an outdoor pool within a lovely garden. We ate dinner here and whilst not a huge variety on the menu the food was excellent and not expensive The breakfast the following morning was the best we had had after travelling most of the week . We would definitely stay here again and cannot rate it more highly.

Fundao is really a quiet place. You have to eat at the hotel. The next restaurants are to far away, there is a car necessary.

We liked the nature and silence. The garden pool was perfect to relax during our intermediate stop.
