The hotel requires a bit of effort to get there, as it is on a slightly steep street (like 70% of Portugal in my impression). There is however a bus stop 150m away.

Staff friendliness, room quality, excellent views, perfect breakfast. Everything was more than excellent. A very cosy hotel. We got also a lot of explanations about Coimbra, its history, maps, etc...

NOTHING! But do know, we only stayed one night. Our room might have be a bit tight/small if staying several nights with lots of luggage.

The place is AMAZING! Such a beautiful old house decorated with SO MUCH love and taste, just gorgeous! Paula is SO welcoming, we have never felt 'at home' as fast as here. SUPER warm welcome with LOTS of information prepared for us upon arrival. And all this on her GORGEOUS terrace with a MAGNIFICENT view where we had THE BEST BREAKFAST ever the next morning, thanks to Louis. Yes, the house is located on a busy street but don't be put off, the insulation is superb. We also loved the fact that you can easily walk to dinner places and into town. For us, a PERFECT stay. I would definitely come back and stay here again anytime.

Amazing history, amazing Host that really gauged and respected how much information we wanted to receive. Very engaging or would very much respect privacy if required. I loved to hear all the helpful information that the host was able to provide. Beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and coffees were great. It was raining while we were there but very much enjoyed our overnight stay. It was special and so will be your stay here.

The room was large and had a nice view. Paula was very welcoming and was very proud of her city. She gave us good information for sightseeing. The breakfast was wonderful and very filling. We stayed for one night and it was great. Parking on site was tricky but greatly appreciated.

The house is lovely. The view from it to Coimbra is stunning. Paula is an exceptional hostess and could not have been kinder or more helpful with maps,directions, recommendations on restaurants, calling taxis. Highly recommend this place.

First of all, Paula, the owner, is one of the most impressive and wonderful women we’ve ever met. In addition, she was a fantastic hostess. And we’re amazed at what she did to this property. Second, sitting outside in the most perfect setting enjoying incredible breakfasts will be a lasting memory. Luis was so attentive and gracious and kept the coffee coming. Third, our room was beautiful and comfortable. We felt like a king and queen. We feel so lucky to have had the experience of staying at CoumbraAmeias.

We loved our one night stay here so much! Paula was so enthusiastic and kind and helpful. She loves her city and she loves being a host to travelers and it shows. Her suggestions and welcome greeting were so warm and lovely. Being greeted with some port wine, a snack, and Paula's warmth and hospitality was so fantastic. Her house is so charming and beautifully decorated with so many details and thoughtful touches. The room was cozy and perfect for us. Just enough space. The breakfast the next morning was exceptional. She has created this amazing outdoor nook where we ate the most incredible, filling meal. The location was also perfect for exploring the city and Paula let us keep our car parked after check out so we could continue to check things out. This was an exceptional stay with a wonderful host. Highly recommend!

The walk to the main area of town was by a very narrow walk on a busy street. It was managable but not ideal.

The room decor was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and the breakfast was very good.

Check in was completed in the garden with the owner with a glass of Port and a sweet. Lots of history of the area was shared as well as suggested activities and things to see. Breakfast was delicious and served with such grace and friendliness

We've stayed at Hotels, resorts, cottages, Airbnb's, etc., but this was one of the best stays we've ever had. On top of the great room and historic building, we had the best check-in ever . Paula, the owner, was warm, caring, offred us welcome drinks and provided so much helpful info that made the visit so much better). The cherry on top, was one of the best included breakfast we've ever had. Both the food and personal service were excellent. Loved this place, can't say enough good things about CoimbraAmeias. Thank you once again.

Our room was a bit smaller than we’re used to, but was expected for a renovated historic building. It didn’t bother us at all but some guests might find it tight. There is at least one room that is more spacious on the property, located on the ground level, that wasn’t available when I booked.

The proprietor of the hotel, Paula, sits down with each guest at check-in, gives advice on what to see in Coimbra, answers all your questions & will make dinner reservations for you. She was so nice and accommodating & made us feel welcome and special. Paula has poured her heart & soul into this small hotel. It is charming and luxurious, from the sumptuous breakfast served on fancy china to the plush bathroom towels & fancy toiletries. She’s thought of everything to make her guests feel pampered and welcome. I loved the country French feel of the hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and would love to return for another stay.

Beyond recommending what to see and how to get tickets, Paula helped with translations on my computer and recommending an artist we connected with. The breakfast was PERFECT...a huge spread with a variety of delicious homemade cakes, breads etc and a view of the city. ABSOLUTELY the best place we stayed in all of Portugal!

We cannot express how amazing our stay was. Paula and Luis were incredible and the breakfast each morning...there are no words for how good it was especially the baked goods. Paula was even so kind as to get Broa for me as I am gluten free. It was delicious!! The town is alive with activities and music and a walkable distance. We would highly recommend staying here and hope to come back again in the future. ❤️
