Sadly, we never got to meet our hostess as she was ill. But her daughter ( we think) came by and was so friendly (altho with very limited English...which just made it a little challenging). But nevertheless, our needs were seen to with a bright smile!

We liked it all!

We really enjoyed our stay! The views of the surrounding hills and vinyards are incredible. Both uncluttered bedrooms are large, with large beds, and have attatched bathrooms and air conditioning units. The living room is small, but has a nice modern sofa with a large footrest and a lovely view. The eat-in kitchen is quite large and feels like it is someone's home, with pottery displayed and antique chairs and china hutch. It is very quiet. Outside there is an amazing view, a small above ground pool and a large covered area with a bbq and lots of seating (perhaps too much, it would be more elegant with less furniture). Less than 10 min walk to a wonderful local restruant (the vintage caffe) with a fixed menu. They set up a table for 4 outside and brought several courses of delicuous family style food with port tonics and wine. We ate there twice because it was worth repeating.

Very well equipped, but some items are showing signs of wear and tear. Kitchen utensils etc could be cleaner.

Great location, stunning views,quiet. Host very kindly left us cheese, ham, butter and everything you would need for your first breakfast, greatly appreciated.

The showers have a problem with the flowing out of the water and the small swimming pool badly needs a new ladder, since the existing one is broken.

The location is great. Wonderful view on the hills. The rooms are large, the kitchen very well equipped. The landlady was very nice and made our laundry. Animals lovers will like the friendly cat and the small dog who like to hang around. Sitting outside looking at the sunset was very nice.

The owners were not on the property beyond welcoming us and when the TV was not working we had a hard time reaching them. The only other thing was that the setting was so steep it was was hard to do much walking around the property.

Absolutely gorgeous setting, at the top of a hill outside Pinhao with terraced vineyards and amazing sunsets. The apartment was really roomy and comfortable and they left us a lot of food. The views were amazing and the drive up and down the mountain were fun.

The house was clean and very comfortable. Two big rooms each with their own private bathroom. The kitchen is big and well equipped. Carla was very friendly en responsive and always helped with our requests and questions. The outside terrace is very large, with barbecue equipment, plenty of seating and a small pool, and of course a beautiful view over the valley. The little town is very charming and a short downhill walk or drive. Pinhão is less than 10 minutes away, which makes it the perfect spot to see and experience the best of the Douro. We will stay here again on our next visit to the Douro Valley.

A beautiful location close to Pinhão. The views are great. The hostess is very nice. She greeted us with wine, bread and sardines. And she did laundry for us. The cat and the dog are very friendly.

This gem of a property is in the heart of the Pinhao Valley in the most breathtaking scenery. Off road parking which we wanted. The owner was charming and generous, nothing was too much trouble. 2 very comfortable, modern ensuite bedrooms with air con. Fully equipped kitchen, requires a little updating, had everything we needed. Surface pool and covered BBQ area with table, we cooked outside and enjoyed the spectacular views. Good location for visiting quintas and towns.. Great value for money!

No washing machine, although ad states there is one, all bowls were chipped, pool was filthy, black mould on kitchen roof, shower leaks all over bathroom floor, on main road so noisy in the day, terrible pillows. This place needs some money spent on it to bring it up to scratch- it’s very tired and might be reasonable value for two couples but is expensive for one couple considering the state of things. The owner did say she was unwell so I’m not sure of this affected overall cleanliness. It’s surrounded by vineyards so Nepalese workers come and go- that didn’t worry us. Pool decking made from pallets, ladder seems rusty- seems a bit unsafe. A few lights need replacing.

Good location about ten minutes from Pinhao with great views. Spacious inside and out, food provisions given, bed was comfortable.
