Beautiful renovated authentic house

The only challenge was unloading our car, as there is nowhere to park outside the property. We did not try to use the garage as we had been warned that it was awkward to get into. However the museum carpark round the corner was not expensive and was easy to use.

The breakfast was excellent, and Mariana took great care to provide for my dietary needs. The room was a lovely combination of modern chic and classic decoration, in a beautiful old building. We were delighted to find that there was even a garden we could enjoy. It all felt very exclusive but for a very reasonable cost

It was a wonderful experience, much more than we were expecting. It's a lovely house. We felt like at home because Mariana (the owner) brought to us everything we need all the time. If you have the opportunity visiting "Casa do Sembrano" don't loose it.

Probably the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Unbelievably beautiful rooms, house and garden. Delicious breakfast. We only saw one bedroom (4) and this was the same floor space as a two bed house, effectively a large suite. Vast bedroom with vaulted ceilings, an enormous bathroom and it’s own garden courtyard with floor to ceiling glass windows.

We felt very welcome. The property is a nice mix of old and new and has been updated with pride. The rooms are big and there are nice common areas. There was free coffee and other beverages as well as welcome snacks and water. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower. There is a lot of attention to small details throughout.

Not much - if you’ve got a big car you’ll need to be careful using the houses garage (entrance is very tight ….. but I got a CRV in).

Beautifully restored 17th century home - Mariana and Nuno were great hosts and helped us find a great traditional Portuguese restaurant for dinner. Breakfast was great.

It was a pleasure to stay in this beautifully restored historic building in Beja. The house and courtyard are stunning and our room was spacious and very comfortable. The hosts were lovely and looked after us very well. There were local cakes and complimentary water in our room, together with some chocolates for my husband’s birthday. Breakfast was delicious local produce. We were sad to leave after just one night and hope to return one day.

Very cozy place! Nice garden and rooms. Hotel has parking in a garage-it us very important in Beja. Tasty breakfast! Excellent location-all interesting places are very close.Mariana and Nino were very helpful. We have a good recommendations for museums and restaurants. Thank you very much!

Nothing, absolute perfection in every way. It was rainy and foggy and we still had a blast!

Our host was the most friendly person you could ask for. Beja is a wonderful location and this is centrally located within the city walls. It is near several museums and a CASTLE!!! We couldn't have asked for a more welcoming host in a more beautiful setting! There is a courtyard larger than our entire property in the states. It has lemon trees, flowers and a fountain. The building is a historic preservation and they have worked with archeologists to preserve the history while also creating a modern setting! We will definitely be going back in the future! And to our host, thank you so much for having us!

The location and convenience of the accommodation was great. Mariana and her husband, Nuno has done an incredible job of restoring an historic ruin into a truly beautiful retreat. They could also not have been more welcoming and helpful. Thank you for making this the most memorable stay on our road trip through Portugal. Hopefully we will be back one day 😎

Our stay at Casa do Sembrano was amazing! Starting with the owners, Mariana and Nuno, who were super helpful, accomodating and welcoming - from arriving super late at night, to customizing our breakfast time and preferences, with everything in between. The house is incredible - an immense building, renovated with love by the owners, making rooms super spacious, with excellent bed, pillows, shower, bathroom and overall decoration. There's a garage (needs to be reserved), and the house is situated right in the historical center, close to many restaurants and attractions. It's also next door to a loving cultural center, that had shows of typical Portuguese and Mariachi (!!!) music when we were there. The cost/benefit ratio is unbeatable, we definitely want to come back next time in Alentejo.
