There was nothing we didn't like.

Very nice, peaceful location with a garden, good breakfast with local cheese and honey, helpful and friendly staff. We forgot some things in the room and don Pedro was so kind to send it all back to us. And we got a bottle of local wine as goodbye gift. It was very calm and pleasant stay.

    Not a thing.

Experiencing Casa do Fundo is like experiencing a piece of history in the Serra d’Estrela foothills. Pedro greats you with a warm welcome to his Bed and Breakfast which was first run by his grandparents in this beautifully maintained and restored 120 year old building. The building and it’s out buildings tell the story of the neighborhood if take the time to ask questiones. The beautiful “forno” in the side yard was shared by the neighbors on bread day- but now his bread is delivered fresh with the honk of a horn. Pedro has maintained a lot of the antique furniture and it is a privilege to use it. It appears that he serves the wonderful typical Portuguese breakfast with his grandmothers dishes. Note- this breakfast is typical for the types of foods provided, but atypical for the variety of cheeses, breads, sweets and cereals that he offers. The location is country side, a short drive out of Seia where you are greeted by the sheep that stay nearby at night. If you like to experience the history and culture of Portugal, appreciate beautiful landscaping and a warm personality- choose Pedro’s. If you like cookie cutter lodging and standard food- you need to go somewhere else.

the types of food included in the breakfast are full of variety. I am impressed by the pumpkin jam with the cheese. Also, the honey cake is made from natural honey bred by the honer. I also like the orange juice~

the bed was a bit small for two tall people 😂 but that’s to be expected in Portugal and it was totally fine for 2 nights

We loved our stay in casa do fundo! the bnb was super cosy and nicely decorated. we loved sitting in front of the fireplace with a glass of red wine. the breakfast was our favourite, so many amazing fresh cheeses and jams! We also enjoyed our time chatting with the host who was super friendly and runs an amazing Bnb. We really appreciated personal touches like a tea platter in the evening or an espresso coffee in the morning. We most definitely recommend staying here!

A very nice boutique hotel, close to the Serra da Estrela mountain range. It's a converted family property, with granite walls and away from the hustle and bustle, located at the edge of a small village. Walks start immediately outside the house - or you can go to the Serra for breathtaking views. The house is furnished with lots of taste, and the breakfast is absolutely spectacular: offering lots of homemade cakes and jams, cheese from the region, ... all in a setting that couldn't be more welcoming. Also, for a vegetarian, the breakfast has lots of options! Finally, the hotel is not only really dog-friendly - there are also a few cats, which got along super well with our dog. So an excellent experience.
