Casa de Madalena is a beautiful hostel, clean, in a central location, and with the perfect atmosphere for backpackers. If this wasn't enough, the staff is always smiling and available to make sure everyone 's experience turns out to be unforgettable. Oh, and did I already mention the incredible packakes?

I had hoped to eat pancakes for breakfast, but they are not served until 09:30, which was too late for my early morning plans. Still appreciate the offer though.

Great hostel! Lovely people, good ambiance, beautiful rooftop. Chill vibe. They have a ritual of watching the sunset from the waterside, and a wishing well. It feels like the hostel is build out of love.

Only suggestion is about breakfast. It is included in the booming. They serve amazing pancakes at 9:30, with many jam, peanut butter… also you can have breakfast before, but the only thing missing is toast, because unless you buy your own, you wont have anything to put it on. There are also cereals you can be fair, but I think offering just simple toasts would make the breakfast superb 💯

This box is irrelevant, there's nothing not to like.

I don't really know where to start I have stayed at many hostels, but none are like this the staff really do go the extra mile after a few days they all became almost like family, I would recommend this place to anyone as you are not just getting a place to stay , you get memories, build connections with others & OH YEAH AND PANCAKES EVERY MORNING! Ps. Big shout out to cátia for putting up with my tizm moments. P.p.s I will be back.

Amazing location,staff super friendly from the moment you walk in the door its smiles and happy faces.. kitchen always clean the whole place smelt clean and fresh…the beds are memory foam so you’ll have a night sleep.. if you have a chance take the time to speak to Andrea super cool guy and great recommendation of place to go and see..

They go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and help you make a friend in the hostel. It’s extremely clean and well looked after. I have also never felt safer in a hostel.

My stay in Alvor was very nice thanks to Simon and his girfriend Sofie. Their rooftop had an amazing view over the town. The rooms were decorated in a mix of Swedish and Portuguese styles. This has been well thought of. Sofie has a lot of skills for interior design. Also I liked the idea of the 'honest bar' where drinks are stored in a fridge and payments can be done based upon trust. This already explains how much trust the hosts give to their guests. I want to thank also for the nice kitesurf session I had with the host Simon. As I mentioned, very friendly people. I hope sincerily that you will be meeting them soon.

As a tall person, the upper bunk beds were very high up, a bit too close to the ceiling, but nothing that would create an issue. Just the first time i noticed how high up they are.

Outdoor shower, happy hour with the 1euro beer, Comfortable rooftop, well organized. Everything was well thought out. Location is perfect, easy to reach from the Flixbus stop or bus station, they have a 24h desk and are fast to reply, easy to reach and communicate with. Local tips and safety high notch as well.:)

i was made to feel at home from the moment i checked in to the hostel, all the staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooftop was my favourite place to be with great views and such chill vibes. The beds was very comfortable and curtains for privacy. Exceptionally clean!! Location was perfect and the hostel has a map/list of nearby recommendations and things to do. I highly recommend this hostel and i will be back in the future!!

I would have loved to have savory options at breakfast (cream cheese for the pancakes for instance) - but all in all it is a wonderful place and I can only recommend it!

Wonderful location, a lot of effort goes into creating a friendly atmosphere (decor, services etc) but also into creating good vibes between the guests. Super clean, breakfast is good, you can lock your stuff to keep them safe.
