Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesUnfortunately, the A/C in one of our rooms did not work and given how remote the house is, there was no option to fix it on a Sunday evening. The house design traps a lot of heat so it got really stuffy without A/C. It is also a bit of a tough drive out there so definitely have a car with clearance and dont plan to just come and go. Its all great but just plan ahead.
This house is amazing. Amazing views. The staff was also amazing and went above and beyond. We didnt have a great plan for dinner and the staff got us food in a nearby town and delivered it back to the house which was awesome. Really unique

CanadaThe signage and instructions to get to the property could do with improvement. We were lost for an hour or more trying to find the proper turnoff, Road is very rough, and slow driving a must

CroatiaConsidering remote / distant location & no restaurants nearby, when arrived, we were offered food delivery, however no menu/ prices were communicated. We ended ordering 2 meals for 4 people, for around 100 euros, which seemed overpriced

SloveniaEverything was amazing! The house and the view are spectacular. Ricardo and Ana are the most amazing caretakers of the house and simply the nicest people who made our experience even better. If you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries, it doesn’t get better than this. Don’t be afraid of the dirt road that leads to the house - we rented a Ford Puma and we arrived just fine.

Australianothing really, some might not like that its an eco property.
Wow - the pictures don’t do it justice, this is an architectural dream. The property is difficult to get to, the roads are gravel and there’s a lack of sign posts - but it adds to the charm of being in the middle of nowhere. We had dinner and wine with the owner and another couple on arrival, it was such an experience, the property itself is so unique. getting up early to watch the sunset on the balcony (or even in bed) is a must. this is an eco property, so you must be mindful of water usage ect. the breakfast was so unique, it felt like the villa was your own. So private, a luxury experience.

AustraliaThe property is isolated so to get food, you have to drive a bit to the nearest town. Or you could ask the staff to get the food for you at a cost. Otherwise, bring your own food as the kitchen was amazing! The dirt road could be a bit of a problem for small car but it was all worth the drive!
The property has an incredible view, it was well worth the trip. Ricardo and Anna were really nice and cooked breakfast, which was fantastic. The room itself was very modern, clean with breathtaking view in the balcony. It was so peaceful and quiet and was such a great place to stay.

UkraineNew buildings - small new problems.)) Need a big sign to turn in the direction of the mountains, to the apartments and a clear path on the Google navigator. But everything was compensated by the hospitality of the owners and staff and the gorgeous views right from the bed in the room.
Very interested place. Incredible view. The owner, Enrique is architect. It's his new project. It just so happened that on that day it was the staff's day off and he met us in person and his wife Victoria arrived in the evening. We had a great dinner and conversation over a glass of wine. In the morning I went for a walk around the neighborhood and even picked a clove of grapes near the road, from an old abandoned vine. Breakfast was prepared by a young woman, Anna. And very beautifully set the table. Told us about the surroundings. Everything was gorgeous.

PortugalThe fact that the house is isolated means that the access is a little tricky, as you have to go through a 5km dirt road to get to the place - but it's well worth the trip!
The hosts (Henrique and Victoria) as well as the staff were extremely accommodating and hospitable. The location of the house is incredible, and we had a fantastic time whilst there. The peace and quiet, along with the sheer natural beauty make it a fantastic gem! Really recommend it.

PortugalOn reflection, it all seems like a big joke. If a few things had been communicated in advance, I would be more willing to see the value but as it was, it felt like a scam. It lacks privacy even though the concept seems to be the opposite, a place for you to disconnect and be away from others - the huge glass window and glass shower wall loose their purpose when there’s only a vase separating each room’s balcony and it seems guests can walk along the balconies anyway. So while it looks like it was smartly designed for you to enjoy the views, it forces you to shut the blackout curtains to avoid being seen inside your own room. Siting on the balcony is worse since the guest are so close and the surroundings so quiet you can’t have a conversation without being heard. You also hear everyone’s conversations. And we also heard the other guests’ phones each time they received a notification. And we also heard the other guest’s tvs. I could also hear someone snore through the walls. None of this matches the tranquil experience they want to sell. Similarly, there’s a bath tub for you to use while appreciating the view but again, you’re stressed all the time someone might show up outside. Also, the tub wouldn’t empty. Overall they seem to miss that privacy mark altogether. Another example, they book everyone’s breakfast for the same time slot and sit everyone closely together on one big table. It was extremely awkward and since I wasn’t looking for that hostel vibe, I had to ask to have it in a separate table, outside. The location is indeed beautiful but the 5 km dirt road is in bad condition and it took us over 30 anxious minutes to drive it to avoid damaging our car. On arrival, we were told there was no possibility of arranging anything for us to eat that day, so we’d have to drive on that same road 30 min each way + some time on a normal road to get some food. This should be clearly stated in the description as I would not had booked a place THAT remote.
It’s beautiful. It’s great if you need Instagram content or such but not for anything else.

New ZealandThere are 3 roads to the property. Although the caretaker was aware that the road often chosen by Google was not safely passable, he didn’t contact us until the afternoon on the day we were arriving to suggest another route. We were driving by that time so didn’t receive the message. Having read the reviews, we expected a not very good but passable road, so we followed the route Google suggested, even though it looked rugged. By the time the ‘road’ got even worse, there was no way to go but onward. This is not a road, not even as good as a farm track - it’s more like a vertical stream bed with deep channels and large rocks. If we weren’t experienced with driving farm tracks there is no way we would have made it up. The ‘jeep’ mentioned in reviews is only a small car, so if we had gotten stuck we would have been out of luck. The better track recommended was passable at a slow drive, but was still a long, rutted and rocky drive. The property seems to mainly use diesel generator power, rather than solar power, although there are solar panels. The generator ran the entire time we were there. The power went off in the evening and was off all night. The caretaker doesn’t stay on site, so nothing could be done until he returned in the morning.
The house is very nice and was very clean. The area is peaceful and beautiful. The kitchen was well appointed. The caretaker is a nice person and breakfast was good.

United KingdomWe had some confusion because we booked a room with a bath and a balcony and were given a different room, so I'd suggest being clear with any booking about the specific particulars you want. Breakfast was tasty but it was served an hour later than we were told at 10.30am and there wasn't quite enough food to go around. We think there is an option to eat dinner at Bonelli house but we didn't know about it so ended up bringing a picnic with us - would suggest asking about food options as the cooked food looked delicious
Absolutley stunning views in a beautiful house! The local countryside has several walks which we really enjoyed and we'd love to come back! Particularly when the pool has been built :)
