Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe only downside was that it was a bit noisy on a night due to the restaurant below and other restaurants nearby, but by 11pm everything was quiet.
The apartment was in the perfect location for us, near to the sea but also central to restaurants etc. The apartment was very clean and spacious. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomProperty excellent. Location, facilities and staff all excellent. Bar immediately opposite played excessively loud music until the early hours, i e. 2am. No fault of the apartment, which we thoroughly enjoyed, but a major disadvantage.
Excellent location for town, shops and restaurants.

South AfricaNo elevator, so if you have large suitcases... it may be a challenge climbing those stairs. Exceptionally loud, annoying music coming from one of the establishments downstairs which carried on throughout the night until early hours of the morning. We could not sleep despite closing the windows and bedroom door. With a heavy heart, we left after one night. If you're a light sleeper or have children, this might not be the place for you.
Great location. Apartment was clean and had everything needed for a stay. Friendly and helpful staff who were available any time I needed to get hold of them.

SerbiaExcellent location, the owners are completely correct. The description of the apartment states that it has 98 square meters, but there are no more than 60. The extra bed is uncomfortable and at night too noisy from the disco that is under the window. There is no terrace. Nicely equipped with everything you need. Recommendation

FranceThe appartment was located above a night club and we had music very loud every night... So we could not open the doors to get fresh air, because of the noise, and we had no air conditionner, so it was so hot inside we could not sleep at night...

FranceNoisy in the street except on Sunday and Monday
Very nice and big apartment, kitchen with all you need! 🙂 Very good location Close to restaurants, supermarket and bakery 🧁 Close to téléphérique 🚠 to go to Monte (18 euros) Close to the cathedral and the ocean walk Taberna Ruel restaurant under the apartment makes you a 10% discount, it is a good restaurant quality. I recommend the lapa, the tuna fish 🐟, choice one for two so you have place for dessert after. Advice : go early! visit the East of the island for 34 euros all day, buy ticket in a kiosk like Madeira excursions by the oceans’walk. Very interesting excursion 9:15 am to 5 pm 🤩🤩🤩

United KingdomThe beds were very firm which we found a little uncomfortable. But all new and in great condition. On Friday and Saturday nights there is music coming up from the street until around 2am. We knew when we booked that it was above one of the busiest streets for socialising in Funchal. Just be aware that running both the oven and the hob will challenge the electricity system - we had a fuse trip. It was simple to remedy and we just had to be conservative with power use in the kitchen.
The location is excellent in the middle of the Old Town. It is situated above a restaurant where we collect Ted our keys. We knew there would be 3 flights of stairs to the apartment but the view and the sea facing balcony which received almost constant sun were worth it. The apartment was immaculately clean and the kitchen very well equipped to cook the delicious Madeiran produce.

United KingdomNot sure if this would affect all apartments, but ours was directly opposite a club and only a floor up. The club closes at 1am Tues-Thurs and 2am Fridays and Saturdays, with really loud, vibrating music. There was also an extractor fan/air conditioning unit that must have vented right by our bedroom window. With everything, it was so loud that even with air plugs I struggled to sleep, and the bed was incredibly hard to the point that I hurt when I woke up. Loved the apartment but if you struggle with noise when sleeping, this one is up there!
Apartment was spacious and well-equipped. The host was very welcoming and was happy for us to leave our luggage there on our final day until our flight. The location in Zona Velha was fantastic, great restaurants and bars all around and only 50m to the sea.

The apartment number 3 was clean, large enough and well equipped. I appreciate iroin and washig mashine. The restaurant downstairs is really good and the food is delicious.

United KingdomCan be a bit noisy in the evening up to around midnight, but it is in the city centre after all!
This is a great location right in the centre of the city, near the cable car and with a multi storey car park a short walk away. We would recommend the restaurant downstairs, but there are many others in the area too.

RussiaWe rented 2 apartments - No1 is on the 1 floor, bedroom facing SMaria street, and living room facing the bar, and No3 has its living room facing the bar on the smaller street. At daytime it’s just a door in the wall with an archaic sign - poncha sales or smith. BUT you can’t imagine how crowded is the small street on Thursday and Friday and Saturday night (people dance till 3AM. And when you are sleeping in Apartment No1, be ready to a guy who will come at 7:00 AM to install the tables back on Santa Maria street just behind your window. The hosts said it can be noisy sometimes near by but I will advise to rent the apartment No1 is you are dumb or you have an eccentric idea to pass a week in the immersive play of life in the middle of old city.
Nice house, central place, friendly hosts.
