Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast was amazing. Staff were great. Little outdoor space with table and chairs was a nice place to relax. Villa dog was very cute :) Would recommend bringing a car as it's a short drive from amenities.

United KingdomOnly two small things….. We had a room looking onto the Courtyard and directly behind the dining room. There was no foil or net curtain resulting in a direct view into the room. If you want some privacy during the day you have to draw the curtain and put the light on which is a shame on a sunny afternoon. The second problem for me is entirely outside the control of the hosts. The property is in the countryside and some of the surrounding properties must have dogs which barked at night. Not constantly , but for long enough for it to become an irritation.
Very clean , very well presented, excellent hosts.

United StatesThere was nothing we disliked about the property.
Beautifully decorated in like a “Key West” style (from Key West in Florida-US) with a farm house charm. Our room was impeccably clean with a fresh pleasant scent, very comfortable bed with crisp linens, a picturesque field view from our window. A wonderful breakfast with home made baked goods. Lina and her husband were very hospitable and friendly, he even helped carrying our luggage. Definitely recommend.

United StatesThe only thing we would have appreciated more was if the breakfast hours were extended to earlier in the morning. Maybe from 8am to 10am instead of 9am to 10am so we could leave earlier for the day and have more time to explore the beautiful Algarve.
Our stay at this farm house was an delight from start to finish. The property exudes charm, with its picturesque landscaping adding to the overall appeal. Our suite was very clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything one might need during their stay. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome from the owner, who even offered us beach towels for our convenience. The breakfast, lovingly prepared by the owner herself, included an assortment of fresh fruits, various cheeses, cured meats, homemade cakes, and more, providing a delightful and diverse selection. Upon informing the owner about our early check-out for an early flight the day before we leave, we were pleasantly surprised to discover a considerate breakfast waiting for us in our room that night. It included sandwiches, freshly baked cake, orange juice, and a compact coffee maker, a genuinely heartwarming gesture. Our short stay here was nothing short of exceptional, and we wholeheartedly recommend this accommodation to anyone seeking a memorable and hospitable experience in Tavira.

PortugalBest and most relaxing hols I had in sometime! We book the room last minute for 10 days and it was the best decision we made on our holidays! The hosts (Lina and her husband) are amazing and super welcoming, we got an immediate bonus on getting our room upgraded, the farm is in a quiet place, it has a nice pool in the back of the house, and you can have some peaceful moments just by staying in the guesthouse, unless you find Mel (the dog) and she is on the mood to play ball with you, then you will have a different experience of relaxation and happiness, with the nicest and most chilled dog who's always willing to play ball with you, there's also two cats, to balance Mel's energy. We already mentioned the upgrade, but we had many other small details, Lina was super attentive and helping us in everything we needed, we got a small bottle of local spirits (delicious!) from her husband and even two spear boat tickets to one of the islands (Thank you!). Also, if you are a foodie person, her husband kept giving us many nice restaurant locations, of all types but with great food. Cannot miss how amazing breakfast is, fresh eggs from their own hens, fresh fruit, some from the farm as well, homemade cakes (we loved the orange cake!), and a lots of nice breakfast goodies! A personal note that impacted my decision to rent in the location, obviously the great score Quinta Almargem has, but the location is really close to Tavira, for any night dinners or drinks its a 5min drive, but you are also within 30mins from the border with Spain to the East and same time to Faro in the West, its a great location to be based on for visiting many places in the area. Thank you so much to Lina, her family and the staff, you're all amazing hosts!

United KingdomWe had to go back to Scotland
We spent a fantastic 10 days at this lovely guest house near Tavira. It turned out to be even better than we had hoped for. We made a somewhat last-minute decision to stay here because we weren't sure if we'd want to get a rental car or just stay in a city hotel. After reading the reviews about this guest house, we quickly changed our minds and went for the car rental. Right from the start, we felt like we'd stumbled on a hidden gem. The family who runs the guest house were great hosts, and very welcoming despite a slight language barrier. Every morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast featuring eggs from the farm's hens, fresh watermelon, figs, and avocados grown right on the property. It's used to be a working farm, but these days they just share the produce with their friends... and us lucky guests. And they even had a homemade cake ready for us every morning! One of the highlights of our stay was the peaceful pool area at the back of the guest house. It was the perfect spot to unwind while the housekeeping staff took care of our clean and airy rooms. And let's not forget the excellent air conditioning that kept us comfortable throughout our stay. But what made this place truly special were the other hosts – Mel the dog and the two cats. Mel, in particular, stole our hearts as she eagerly played catch with us every morning after breakfast. She added an extra dose of joy to our holiday. When it was time to say goodbye, the owners surprised us with thoughtful parting gifts - a lovely touch at the end of our stay. In summary, if you're planning a trip to Tavira area, and have the option of renting a car, we wholeheartedly recommend this charming guest house. It's a haven of peace, warmth, and natural beauty that offers an unforgettable experience. Our stay here was truly exceptional, and we're looking forward to our next visit. A big thank you to Lina, her family and of course Mel for making our holiday so...

The breakfast was delicious with lots of variety! Lina and her family were very kind and welcoming and the dog Mel was so playful and sweet! The farm house is located in a really quiet neighborhood . United KingdomThe air con could have been more powerful as the room felt hot on a night, but it was very hot temperatures even for Portugal so it is understandable
Hosts are a family who are extremely accommodating and friendly during your stay - the best customer service I have received on holiday. Breakfast was great and left us feeling full every morning. A few minutes drive from a supermarket and no more than 10 mins to central Tavira. Holiday more suited to having a vehicle if you plan to explore but also a lovely spot to relax with enough nearby

The Almargem Farm House is a stunningly beautiful property ran by the sweetest souls. The stay felt more like I was staying with relatives rather than strangers. The place is impeccably clean and smells wonderful. The service couldn’t possibly be any better. I’m vegan, and my experience has been that plant based food isn’t a big part of Algarve cuisine. The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs cooking up a feast for breakfast with roasted vegetables, avo on toast, nuts and fruit. They gave great recommendations and accommodated a super late check out with a smile. My stay was memorable. Thank you for your genuine smiles and care. Greatly appreciated! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
