Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt took a minute to get the AC going—then everything was fine!
The ambience was great. The location was perfect for the airport and the cruise port. The host was extremely gracious and accommodating to our needs. Our short stay here allowed us to experience an evening and afternoon enjoying lovely San Juan.

Great location. The bed and breakfast offered excellent breakfast. With coffee, sausage, eggs, bacon toast, juice, cold cereal, fresh fruit, etc, which is amazing to get that every morning. The location of Casa Isabel was very close to the beach and also within walking distance of numerous restaurants and convenience stores and basically anything you wanted to do. Uber anywhere for $4 - $15. The ambiance was amazing. I really loved the place.Looking forward to going back

United StatesI wish the rooms were a little cozier - felt a little sterile with all the tile and blank walls (size of the room and bathroom were good/big size).
Casa Isabel was wonderful - it was a mix between a hotel and a house stay. The location was great: blocks from the beach, right near the bus stop to take the bus into Viejo San Juan (quick ~20min) The breakfast was also pretty good - it was the standard continental mix but it had everything you could want from spices, hot sauce, etc.. Staff was friendly, super easy check in, overall great value! Beach chairs, coolers, towels, and even left behind sunscreen is available to use.

This is an authentic PR bed and breakfast. The architecture and decoration make you feel like you’re in a local house.

United StatesThe TV remote was a little hard to figure out, but we were able to watch some cable shows.
Our hostess Margie was very welcoming. You can tell she really tries to make her guests comfortable. Breakfast always included eggs, potatoes, toast, cereal, fruit, etc., and lasted until at least 10:30, which we appreciated!. Quiet location on residential street, but close to lots of restaurants and the beach. The area felt very safe. Also near three different public bus routes into Viejo San Juan (check Google maps for a (very) approximate schedule). We often had to wait a bit for the bus, but we didn't mind because the fare was totally free right now, possibly through September. Once the bus arrived, the ride only took about 20 minutes. There was also a large supermarket about a 5 minute walk away, where we picked up packaged salads for the plane trip home. The room had a microwave and mini-fridge, as well as plates for those who might want to eat in.

Nicely appointed with a good mix of vintage and modern. Margarita filled us in on the history of the house and the conversion to a bed and breakfast. Walking distance to the beach short and sweet. Outdoor bathroom with shower facilities available even after checkout.

SpainIt was clean but not super clean...
The access was easy, the property is small but with everything you could need. Our room was spacious, with a kitchenette and accessible bathroom. Breakfast is simple but delicious, with scrambled eggs, sausages and potatoes, coffee, sweets and some fruit. Close to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. The owner was super friendly. She let us come back the day we finished our cruise to drop off our luggage for the day and even let us use the bathroom to shower. Made our trip easier. Thanks!

United KingdomThe fact we had to leave to come home!!!
We stayed with Margie twice , pre and post our recent cruise out of San Juan This lovely little B&B was a fabulous find, located in a residential area close to bars and restaurants and 1 block from the beach! It was so good I almost didn't want to write the review as I want it to be available for whenever we visit!!!!!! Margie and staff are all lovely and very accommodating. Arrival instructions were easy to follow Rooms were clean, and beds were very comfortable, during our 2 stays we had rooms 1, 2 and 4, each was slightly different but had all you needed. Usb charging points in bedside lamps was a bonus and something we haven't even had in some high end hotels!! Breakfast was way more than what was expected, selection of cereals, fruits, juices, hot items and toast. Tea and coffee were always available along with iced water. Having beach chairs available to use, along with other items, was a great bonus for us! This will definitely be our go to place to stay every time we are in San Juan!
