Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

IrelandShower cabin too small, plenty of bugs, ants, flies, spiders and mosquitos. No towels in the bathroom. Kitchen sink too small. Place was dirty and far away from the beach but we had a car so it was grand.
Price was very good. This is quiet place. We were the only guests so it was very peaceful.

LuxembourgRUINED HOLIDAYS AND NO COMPROMISE FOR SETTLEMENT / August-September 2023 We planned to stay in Władysławowo for a week to enjoy last summer vacation week and booked 4 days. Unfortunately we only could stay 2 and had to move out. Several issues happened: 1 – We announced to the host that we will arrive late due to the flight. Upon arrival at the apartment houses we see our flat #1 was occupied. As no answer by the host we had to wake up in the middle of the night another guest family. They got also confused. Luckily we could open another flat and could occupy. But as it was not for us we were missing bed cloths. Next day this could be settled with an older lady. However the flat was looking NOT so clean and smelling for a dog or so. 2 – Next evening we discovered bugs & insects on the floor and on the wall which bated us and generated allergic reaction at one child. We informed the host, but instead of acting for an immediate cleaning and disinfection or settlement proposal, they only provided next day (how quick!) an expertise document saying it´s “normal and usual” to have in summer season such bugs. However the document testified only one type of bug but neglected the others which could be i.e. bedbugs or so just appearing in the night. No word about these insects so far. 3 – Instead of getting any settlement or compromise, the host rejected any request and we had to move out after only 2 days. The night was a horror to prevent our kids of getting more bites. 4 – Announcing the case to Booking.com but they could not get any settlement with the host neither. So in the end we paid for 4 nights but could stay only 2, had to move around with a small baby to find another place and paid additional money. 5. The host seems to be on confrontation instead of settling in good-will to find any consensus. Remark: I am Genius Traveller with many years of experience and had never to place any complaint towards Booking.com. This was thef first time!
