Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Location is great as it is within walking distance from many sites of interest. The on site restaurant is very good with reasonable pricing. There are also many good restaurants in the vicinity.

United KingdomHotel Wawel is perfectly located around a 4 minute walk from the main square but is just off the main routes so not many people walking past and therefore a lot less noise than a street or 2 away. Room was great for what we needed, plenty of space and included mini fridge if you needed it. Breakfast was expectedly continental and that was fine for us, we always managed to have a good plate or three. Overall would highly recommend (already have recommended to my parents) and we would 100% stay here again should we return to Krakow.

United KingdomNot a problem for me but the English hotel user might anticipate finding a kettle and tea bags in the room but will be disappointed. The coffee machine mentioned will make lemon tea.
In a quiet road close to the centre of this beautiful city, the position of the Wawel is ideal. Used to U.K. ‘budget’ hotels, this one is, in some ways, slightly old-fashioned with spacious rooms with chairs, small table, mini fridge and the little extras like shower caps etc. A good shower and breakfast selection. The breakfast room becomes a popular - and recommended - restaurant. A free coffee machine available for 24 hr use on 1st floor. Everywhere clean and well decorated. 24 hr reception (will book taxis etc)

United KingdomNot much. Limited selection of English TV channels, although we weren't in Krakow to watch television! Auto-connect to WiFi didn't always work so had to remember to check and sometimes reconnect when returning to the hotel. Free hot drinks machine in the orangery was a bit basic.
Large comfortable room, friendly helpful staff and a great location. Breakfast was fine and the hotel had a very relaxed ambience. Great to be able to open the window as an alternative to the air-conditioning. Would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomBreakfast not very good. Staff not attentive and no bowls put out for cereal and not many choice of this or hot options. Mainly European type cold meats and cheese. No croissants, but cake instead. Fruit juice was OK. We went elsewhere for breakfast in local area which was cheap enough and better choice. Single beds to make a double, but hard wooden edges that split the bed in the middle. Pillow sizes very strange so not that comfy. Beds quite hard and low. No blackout curtains and room not sound proofed from other hotel rooms or cleaners. However, noise was not heard that often so maybe courteous guests.
Room size spacious with fridge and free water (sparkling) on arrival. Was tidy room, decent size bathroom with good powerful warm shower. Hair dryer looked like it would be poor but was powerful enough for my thick hair. Free hot chocolate and coffee anytime you wanted on floor 1. Great location from main square, wawel castle and the river. About 5 to 10 mins walk max. Was really quiet side street which was even better. Would stay again even with sim.of the bits I didn't like.

NorwayNothing to complain about. However, people need to be aware. This is an old hotel. It does not have all the shiny and flashy things. It is an hotel. The breakfast was ok - cosy and clean. Small (very small) selection - but it was good. Coffee could have been better though. But there is NOTHING to complain about. Probably my best hotel stay in a very long time.
The location was fantastic. The rooms was perfectly located with regards to no noice - and the AC really worked. First hotell in a VERY long time (and I stay ALOT on hotels) that REALLY had an AC that worked. Fantastic. Updated and modern bathroom - with large shower and enough hot/cold water. Impressed.
