Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainLocation was kind of bad and the staff did not speak english and would sometimes fall asleep during their shift, so you were not able to talk to them or explain your needs most of the time. They weren't quite invested in helping you with the services they offer, I had to message the person on Booking to get things done instead of talking to the people there 😅. Everything else was really good tho!
The place was very nice.

LuxembourgSome of the rooms have no fridge and the shower is installed just above the toilet seat with no separation. The cleaning was not the best. We changed rooms during our stay and the bathroom was not properly cleaned after previous guests.
Great price to quality ratio in comparison to accommodations in El Nido center. We were here in dry season, in May and we had no problem with running water or mosquitoes like other much more expensive hotels in the El Nido center. Very nice owner and reception, very helpful.

CanadaVery humide place, some mosquitoes but less than expected (probably because there were bug geckos around ;))
Peaceful private cabin in the middle of trees, full breakfast included and served at your door (eggs, sausage, toasts, bread and coffee), small fridge in the room, free water. Walking distance from the town, or you can take a tricycle if you have luggages or get tired. They organize tours and bike rentals directly from the hotel for the same price.

United KingdomCommunicating with the staff wasn't always easy since they didn't speak English very well, but we managed anyway without big issues. The accommodation is not too far from el Nido central town but it is located on top of the hill, therefore, especially at night, you'll need a driver to come back (that even try to charge you more for this reason - happened more than once).
The bungalows are nice and in a nice area surrounded by green.

GermanyThe rooms are so hot and the aircon makes so much noise, so as a light sleeper it was hard to sleep with the AC on & even harder in a hot room. The wall sockets are so loose that they couldn’t hold a phone charger or anything, we had to find a way to make it hold for a charge.
The location is pretty ideal as it is just a few minutes (+|-10)walk from the center of El nido town. Doesn’t cost much if one decides to get a Tuktuk ride too. The breakfast was good and pretty balanced & was flexible on days we had tours & wanted it earlier. The staff was helpful in booking our van to Puerto Princessa, the driver came to pick us up from the inn.

SwitzerlandThere was a mosque nearby that calls to prayer at 5.15 a.m.. It's not the host's fault. Some hand soap would have been nice.
It's a very nice complex with a lots of trees. The room was well equipped. We had a great view from our balcony. Staff was very friendly. They offer laundry service, free drinking water and organised our transport to PPS. WiFi was reliable.

United KingdomAlthough the website advocates mountain views, our lodge was one of the closest to the roads and whilst we did get a nice view of the forest, the road was loud with tricycles and horns going off all night so I'd recommend ear plugs.
My partner and I stayed at Woodland Inn for 3 nights and enjoyed our time. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great and they can accommodate bringing the breakfast to you at different times of the morning. The room was clean and shower hot- although expect some wildlife as we had a cute little gecko in our room for most of the stay. It's out of town but that worked for us and only a 20 min walk or 100 peso each way- which I'd recommend as the road at night could be a bit dodgy.

GermanyThe rooms (we stayed in two different ones over our stay), were very dark due to the inside design with dark wood. Furthermore the windows didn't help too much with the lighting. The floors (tiles) still had residue from the cleaning agent, which made walking barefoot feel squishy. The stairs to the rooms are steep and with luggage hard to walk.
All in all we were happy with the place. The service was very good and forthcoming with all types of requests, but they could be a bit more joyous. The rooms were very spacious! The balcony was also good and had enough space to have breakfast. The breakfast was decent enough, nothing special, but good to start your day.

South AfricaPlace is not suitable for people with mobility challenges (stairs) and if you fear buggs or lizards you won’t enjoy your stay.
It was a good place to stay a little away from the crowds. All staff was very welcoming and kind. SC worked well. I wa assisted with my luggage and getting tricycle. The breakfast is simple but nice mostly toast, egg, butter, ham, jam and water served to ur cottage. The wifi worked exceptionally well and shower was fine. The water doesn’t get super hot but good enough. I loved how we were surrounded by nature though you could still hear the busyness of the main street super early in the morning. Bike rental and laundry service are available. As I can’t ride I had to spend a little more for transportation. Beware that tricyclist will charge more for driving up the hill. During the day I walked the 20 minutes from the center, which was really OK. All in all I enjoyed my overall two nights stay there. Thank you all.

CambodiaThe property has about 7 stray dogs that like to hang around. They are very sweet, but started barking one night and kept us up. People at reception didn't seem too bothered by the dogs, but when we said it was keeping us up they went and yelled at them. Also there were lots of ants in our room, we asked for some spray to kill them, they went out straight away and got some for us which was really nice. Ants didn't hang around too long after we sprayed the frames.
Great sized breakfast. We stayed here for 4 nights and had eggs and toast every day with a different meat every time (bacon, sausages etc). No coffee served, but there is instant coffee in the room. Great location if you want to be away from the craziness of downtown, only 2 minutes uphill on scooter and much quieter. Great sized room, comfortable bed, and lots of great facilities. The showers now have hot water and there are simple toiletries to use. AC worked almost too well! There is a 2nd balcony attached to the cabin and a clothes drying rack which was nice. They also kept a broom in the cabin to sweep up sand.
