Excellent location close to the beach and some lovely restaurants and cafes. Our room was nice and comfortable with a private bathroom. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The shared areas are really nice, super clean and cosy.

Excellent location just off Panagsama beach with sardine run and sea turtles. Room was stylish and very clean. Couple of nice cafes next door. At the time was booked out but still a nice quiet hostel and hang out area looked lovely for those wanting to socialise.

Loved the location of the hostel, right in the middle of town. The staff were so lovely and very helpful. The food was nice and reasonably priced. Our room was clean and everything worked well. We loved the chill out area upstairs too.

The staff is awesome. They can help you with any inquiries you might have. Super helpful in all regards. The rooms are comfy and air-conditioned, but for someone like myself who is about 1.90m in heights the beds are a bit short. Other than that I highly recommend this place. You can also book trips and activities directly through the hostel.

Nothing! Wish we stayed longer

We stayed in the private room and the bed was so comfy - It made it so hard to get out of on the morning! The aircon was also really quiet which was such a luxury after having really noisy ones. The decor was super simple and chic, really good balcony and the room size was great! The staff where super nice and helpful with anything, also great breakfast and drinks

The rain shower was only cold water and didn't have very strong water pressure.

The room was huge and so comfortable. The private bathroom and balcony were great. The staff were so nice and helpful with local information. The location is so close to the beach and restaurants. There was free drinking water available everywhere. Easily one of my top stays!

The hangover I had when leaving was terrible 😂

We had an excellent stay at Chief Mau. I would rate it higher than 10 if it was possible. The bedrooms are great, plenty of space, not like other hostels where they cram in as many beds as possible. Beds were comfortable and private and you had a spacious locker to secure your valuables. Maricon the receptionist/ bar lady/ overall hero was amazing. She was fun and informative and helped us organise trips and tours. We did the canyoneering through the hostel and it was excellent. We lucked out and it was just us and one other couple, so we all got a guide each. The guides were fantastic. Big shout out to Dan, Mark, Jorje and Onix? (not sure of the spelling). This is one of the highlights of our SE Asia trip and it was largely due to how much fun and laughter we had with our guides. We got on with Dan and Mark so well, that after the tour finished we went snorkeling with them at the nearby beach and they got great footage of us swimming with a turtle. We also ate here several times and the food was always good. Be sure to try some redhorse, a strong but delicious beer.

Very hospital and nice personnel! The room was clean and nicely decorated. The ceiling fans and the AC made it quite pleasant to spend time in the room. There were some ants but the staff helped us clean it up right away!

the staff of the hostel was so amazing, i had so much fun and good service with dom, darren, maricor, jenny, and conie. they are so lovely and helpful. and also the beds in the hostel (shared rooms) are insane, comfortable and you get a lot of space. and the localation of the hostel coudnt be better!

There isn’t anything I didn’t like.

The spacing of the beds allows for much more mobility in the room. The showers have excellent water pressure. The lounge are is the hangout spot👌🏽

Didn't put us off however I would not recommend this if you are a light sleeper! Loud music and party vibe in the hostel until early hours, music can be heard from the bedrooms and music then also plays in the common space in the morning so might not suit those wishing to relax.

Very stylish bedroom with a gorgeous view from the balcony (upstairs) perfect for our stay in Moalboal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty to do in the area, the hostel is in prime walking distance to beach and lots of nice restaurants. We were able to rent towels and enjoyed the choice of drinks at the bar. We would stay again! Free drinking water in the room to reduce plastic was a bonus.
