Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI loved the fusion of very community oriented tiny island with traditional values along with the hospitality of hosting FAMILY. If you tired of General Luna vibes then Anajawan will bring new perspective on natural beauty of the island and people's kindness and dignity. I promise you gonna love it. And if you are not stranger to good humour you will have plenty of it... Just ask David what day of the week it is now😉 Love and kind regards from Oleg and Ashley 😊

United StatesWe just spent 7 wonderful days on an amazing island and could have stayed another month. When we arrived they were just installing their solar system so after 2 nights we had electricity 24/7 where previously the generator only ran 10hrs a day. If you're looking for a true tropical island paradise away from the usual crowds and tourism just metres from the beach then this is a must stay. Great food and hosts who make you feel like part of their family. We were lucky enough to also do a day trip to the next island for their Fiesta and were welcomed with open arms and enjoyed a day of feasting. On top that we had our special needs elderly father with us and the service in helping outstanding. We are definitely coming back for another stay in the future.

United KingdomNothing. David says he has lots of plans to improve the setup which is great! Can’t wait to see how it looks when we return :)
This place is special. Staying with Dave and Joannie was a really wholesome and authentic experience. The island itself is beautiful and the best thing is that you will be the only tourists there. David is full of funny stories and makes you feel part of the family. The kids are super sweet and helpful. We had a spacious room and breezy room and loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves. If you’re looking for a good place to relax and have an authentic, wholesome family friendly experience, you should stay there. We stayed 4 nights and recommend MINIMUM 3 nights!

Hong KongA paradise island that felt very authentic. No frills disconnect with reality, the most beautiful beaches and jungle, solo walks on deserted beaches and incredible snorkelling in an ocean filled with life. Limited electricity, limited cell connectivity, basic rooms with fans and village life happening around. Highly recommend you walk through the jungle to the other side of the island, unbelievable sunsets, coral reef, surfing.

FrancePeople who complains because there is no shops, no bars, no permanent wifi :)
A place like you don't see anymore. Simple but comfortable cottage right in front of the beach. We spent 8 nights with our 2 kids and enjoyed every minute of it. Just doing nothing, listening to the waves, reading, wandering in the lovely village closeby, swimming, playing with the locals kids and their beautiful smile...David is a lovely character full of stories, his wife Joannie is the cook and manage to realize good dishes despite the challenge of being in a remote island (they make their own bread for instance)...Their 3 kids are also part of the daily life. They are so kind and attentive. It was such a privilege to spend a week like this. Thank you David, Joannie, Dylan, Chloe and Noveline + Luigi the clown.

United StatesThe whole village needs help specially the schools. They have to rebuild again, they lost everything they had from the storm and the earthquake. I will try to do my best to help them. The property we stayed is in good condition and clean and the food at Joana and David kitchen were delicious 😋
Very nice, quiet, we enjoyed the company of the people specially the kids. I feel, I am home and hopefully we can come back soon for longer visit 🙏

The island can only be reached during the day but once you are there you are in paradise and have a house of your own right by the sea and with the best host I know in the Philippines

SwitzerlandI've been traveling for almost 30 years and have seen many beautiful places in the world. The island of Anajawan and this sweet hotel are among my most beautiful experiences! David, Joannie and the children are super nice, you feel at home there. The food is delicious and the island is just a dream without tourists. Anyone who loves pure nature will find themselves in paradise there. We were there for 4 nights and could have stayed many more nights.

United KingdomOnly little things like the pillows had seen better days. The shower was pretty weak but if you know you're not getting super posh stuff its just absolutely fine.
David and his family were so welcoming and kind. The island is beautiful, and if you're after a quiet time away, this is the place to be. The accommodation is a few steps away from the beach. The food was limited whilst i stayed but that was mainly due to little fish being available as the seas were rough.

GermanyWe loved it but guests should be aware that it is a very remote island. Electricity from a generator, no AC, no hot water (BUT you can drink the water from the tap!)
We had a wonderful time on what we internally called "Dave-Island". Really liked our host (shared a lot of laughs) and also the whole setup of hammocks, palmtrees and sleeping in a bungalow so close to the beach.

AustraliaOnly a minor issue, but card payment was unavailable.
The resort is right on a beautiful beach with views out over the ocean and nearby islands and was probably the most relaxing place I have ever stayed. David and Joannie ( I hope I spelled that correctly) were excellent hosts, serving up great food, ( I particularly enjoyed the fresh fish), and cold beer. Other highlights were the boat transfers and island hopping excursion.

United StatesI was disappointed that I had already paid for my next place to stay as I wanted to stay here longer.
It’s pure paradise out on this island. From the moment we were picked up by the boat on Siargao until we left we were in relaxation mode. The large rooms overlook the beautiful beach and wow, the food was amazing. We ate some of the best fish ever out here prepared by the wonderful hosts. Take the time to walk all the way around the island if come here.

What can we say, its a TRUE Island experience!! We recommend it if you Are looking for a few days off the Beat. Beautiful ocean, lovely island community and just the perfect Place for relaxation on a remote island. Lovely owner plus family and puppy. GermanyIt was a bit hot at night without aircon (fans are available though), that’s why we slept outside on the terrace, which was even better though. Nice wind and the sound of the waves to fall asleep.
Hosts are very friendly and helpful, Dave & Joannie answered all questions we had before we arrived as well as on the island, they organized our transfer from the airport and back again, we didn’t have to worry about anything. Food was good and our kids had a blast, playing with the island kids. They didn’t want to leave anymore and still ask when we will go back there. The island is a paradise, clear warm water, white sand beach, most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. If you need to detox and get away from city life - this is your place to find peace and nature.
