Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

This little hotel is close to the Plaza de Armas. It is in a quiet neighborhood with a number of small restaurants and shops. It is also quite cheap. The staff is super friendly and helpful. There is always hot water in the shower and you can also have a space heater for your room.

Irelandno table lamps by bed. no rugs. VERY COLD. chemical used to clean will disturb chemically- sensitive folks. due to inner open courtyard onto which all rooms give, you can hear sounds very easily , so , if you're sensitive to noise, it could be uncomfortable at times. but it is quiet at night for sleeping. breakfast is early though, so you'll hear sounds early making it hard to sleep late, at least for me.
heater which gave warm cozy glow. bed, sheets very cozy and comfortable.. attractive old world decor, tiles, wood , cushions, plants. hot shower. kind hosts. bottled water. front desk assistance.

South AfricaSometimes, we have to scale down our tourist perspective to just experience a truly real, authentic family establishment. I used Google translate to communicate and found that it helped a lot to avoid misunderstandings. It was a touch difficult to make my online booking understood, but we eventually communicated better when I translated the communication to Spanish.
This Catana Inn is old but authentic. It's a family-run establishment, no frills, but a beautiful location in San Blas.

SwitzerlandThe accomodation is simple but sufficient considering the low price.
The owner and staff were very attentive and helpful. We received information regarding some of the tours, that we wanted to do on our own. This information is hard to come by unless you go on paid tours - so that was especially kind and helpful.

Spain- Building needs a bit of money spent on it. - I had to change rooms twice due to dogs barking but not the hotels fault, and the second time, the lights blew out. - breakfast wasn't so great, but OK. - Sheets and towels weren't cleaned or well, maybe clean, but had staines All in all, 1 night is fine, but the place had a lot of potential, and I hope they current owners make the changes.
The owner (the lady) she wanted to help and was generally nice and smiley, which was nice. Wifi worker fine.

CanadaThe owner is just the nicest guy. He speaks English and helped me navigate Puno, and gave me a good choice for a great pizza. Lovely young man that works really hard. The bathrooms where clean and there is hot water, which is nice to have after 2 days on Lake Titicaca. I saw him cleaning the stairs and keeping the facilities clean while I was there. Great host. In addition, the beds are comfortable with many covers to keep you warm. Puno can get cold. Finally, it's 10 steps from the bus station to continue your journey. Excellent place to stay.
