Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Clean, spacious rooms, super accommodating staff, great location close to the thermal baths and waterfall. Aguas Calientes is a surprisingly quaint little town. If you look for relaxation and good atmosphere I recommend staying a couple of nights.

United KingdomThat the door to the balcony didn't lock and that there was no proper curtain covering an outside window in the shower. Other reviews have also mentioned these two issues. They could easily be rectified ...so I am not clear as to why they haven't been addressed.
This is a good place to stay for a night when visiting Machu Picchu. Nice staff and breakfast.

We were met at the station because the place is a little off the beaten path. Great location near the warm baths. Good coffee at breakfast. Friendly staff who are quick to help

United KingdomNot really a dislike…….. but at times the wifi seemed a little slow when connected, still worked though 👍🏼
Was really nice to be met off the Train and to get bearings straight away on the short walk to the B&B. Clean and Comfortable stay with the staff and family being very helpful and sorting a very nice breakfast everyday. Good Shower and yes the River was a tad noisy, but we found it like white noise and got to sleep really quick. Enjoyed the relaxed karma and nice to have Cocoa Tea for the Altitude and Coffee available throughout the day. Pleasant stay for our Machu Picchu Experience 😁

I loved the relaxing feeling from staff, view over river and interior of building. Breakfast was great and providing a boxed lunch for Machu Picchu was great. Also bonus being met and station and right beside hot pools.

United StatesThe room was a bit damp. The door to the balcony was not properly sealed. The bathroom floor was also wet. It seemed the base of the toilet was not properly sealed or perhaps needed a wax ring. In heavy rains it looked as if river water backed into the drain. This was not addressed by maintenance during our stay although it was made known immediately.
Friendly attentive staff. Great location with a view of the river in many rooms. Close to restaurants and hot springs. Easy walk to train. The host met us at the train and guided us to the property.

South KoreaThey might have a delay to check booking.com messages so make sure you have enough time to communicate with them. I couldn’t enjoy their pick up service since I sent them my train number one day before my stay and you might not be able to find the hotel easily. The receptionist didn’t speak English when I checked in so I had a difficult to time to find the hotel cause we could not talk properly when I called the hotel which means it could be also very difficult to communicate with them if you do not speak Spanish. However, receptionist when I checked out spoke English and he helped me to leave my luggage in the hotel. So it might depend on the timing of your check in. As a lot of people already mentioned, this hotel is not the closest hotel from the train station but it does not take too long from the station either.
It was a lovely place to stay in Aguas Calientes before or after visiting Machu Picchu. They have a spacious and cozy room with a nice river view. The breakfast they prepared was simple but really lovely and nice.

United StatesI had no issues
Couldn't ask for better location and room. My room faced the river and it was very comfortable. The location close to everything. I have been traveling for 1 1/2 month and I have stayed in all sorts of lodging, this has been my favorite.

LuxembourgAt the top of the hill, although this also meant it was a bit quieter than the other hotels would have been.
Right next to the thermal baths, loved sleeping to the sound of the river.

GermanyQuite a bit of a steep hike to get there, but that's part of the experience and actually not too bad.
Nice people at the reception and preparing the great breakfast. Our balcony was located right next to one of the rivers, the hotel is quite close to the warm fountain pools.

AustraliaWifi was a bit spotty
Wonderful little hostel in a convenient location in AC. We stayed 3 nights as we did 2 days at Machu Picchu and this was the perfect place to stay (only 12 mins from the bus stop up the mountain, very close to the train station from Cusco). The staff were wonderful (including packing us breakfast for our early departures and organising laundry with a local laundromat for us). Our balcony had a great view over the river which was a big bonus! Highly recommend staying here!

United StatesThe location was great, right next to and overlooking the river. I actually kept the room's door to the balcony open all night so I could hear the river. The hotel was also far enough from the tracks where train noise was not an issue at all. The room and bath were both impressive and spacious. The staff was very friendly.

CanadaThey could put a simple decoration on the wall but it was still my favorite room until we stayed someplace much more expensive.
The balcony over looking a fast moving clean river. Minimalist decor. The packed lunch for those going off to Machu picchu early. Proximity to the hotsprings and the opportunity to walk all of the main street. The mistical enigmatic owner.

CanadaOne drawback was the bathroom lacked curtains, exposing everything to the outside view. Although they temporarily addressed this by placing a shawl on the window, it unfortunately fell after a few hours. Also, while the host dcome to pickup us from the train station, they did not assist with carrying our luggage. Given the uphill location, we found it challenging to manage our belongings, and the fact that we had to walk from the train station to the accommodation with our luggage made the situation even more difficult.
The hosts at the accommodation were notably polite and friendly. Then packed light snacks for our day trip to Machu Picchu. Additionally, the room was quite spacious. The location proved to be advantageous, opening up to the market and offering numerous restaurant options while leading directly to the main square. The accommodation is slightly uphill but the setting provides a delightful view of the river and lush greenery.
