Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe property is high up but just take it slow and you will be fine, and once you see the views all is good. He can give you directions to give to the cab drivers to get you close to the property if you prefer. Ten minute walk down to Plaza de Armas
Carlos was the most amazing, friendly, helpful host. The views over Cusco are amazing. One room has its own private terrace and there are two more public terraces. San Blas is a great area. Many restaurants near by. We stayed there three times and he always stored our bags for us when we went off on a trip to Manu jungle and to hike the Inka trail. Even gave us advice on getting tickets to a football game!

United StatesThe location was a but inconvenient. Many travel services offer to pick you up at your hotel, but this hotel is not accessible by car. In fact, you have to climb up like 5 flights of stairs to get there from the historic center, which was a bit annoying.
The room and the staff were amazing. The host helped me with restaurant recommendations and things to do if needed. He also provided coca leaves and tea which was helpful.

United KingdomFound two rabbits being kept in a shed, conditions seemed unclean and the rabbits did not seem healthy and happy. It would be great if the living conditions for these rabbits were improved.
The host was very quick at responding and helpful. We were able to leave our bags after check out and the host booked us a taxi. The view from the balcony was really good.

AustraliaIt isn’t easy to get to by taxi. Most taxi drivers insist on dropping you off at San Blas square- which then requires a serious climb uphill. This is pretty unpleasant if you’re not used to the high altitude and have lots of luggage! We enjoyed our stay but it definitely isn’t a 3 star hotel.
The staff were incredibly helpful and lovely - letting us check in early and use the communal areas and store our luggage after we’d checked out. The hotel is conveniently located near to several great restaurants in San Blas and has great views over the city.

ThailandPerfect sty here, Carlos was super kind and helpful with local advice, ordering a taxi and storing our bags. Also nice touches like providing a thermos with hot water for our arrival so we could have some tea 😁. The kitchen was super helpful and saved us some money. Room balcony was lovely and also a really nice rooftop area. The area felt safe at night not too far from bars and restaurants- the stairs helped us prepare for Salkantay 🤣 There were loads of warm fleeces on the beds which made our stay cosy and comfy. Thanks!

United StatesThe pillows are very lumpy and not very comfortable. The shower temperature was always too hot or too cold and the water pressure was not very good. There isn't even a reading/night lamp, only an overhead light.
Well, when I first got to the airport the location sounded like it was way up on a mountain and I almost canceled. Its actually just a few minutes walk up the hill from cafes and restaurants, a few minutes more you can be in the main sightseeing area. Also it was very cheap. Only like $13 per night. And it has very nice views of the city.

CanadaNothing! Tho if you don't like walking uphill, this might not be your hotel, quite a walk with stairs up to the hotel around 15-20mins from plaza de armas. But why are you even in cusco if you are not willing to walk up a little bit.
Rooms were clean, the owner Carlos was very accomodating to our request such as checking out very late + storing our luggages while we do our salkantay trek with no extra charge, he also helped us booked taxis after check out even before I could ask him. Views from the balcony and top floor were amazing! You could see the whole city from the night, during sunset and sunrise. Must stay! Carlos is a very good Host.

ThailandCosy rooms, amazing views! Carlos was super helpful so we actually ended up staying here before and after our Salkantay hike. They're not kidding about the stairs up to this place! If you have a suitcase with wheels then you should get a taxi. With just backpacks you will be fine.

BrazilThe view is amazing, the room has all you need, but I really need to give here a special comment about Carlos. He is amazing, really! Since before we’ve arrived he helped us with everything we need to make our trip perfect! Near Casa Mirador there’s a lot of great places to eat, and is near San Blas and Plaza de Armas, which is amazing! I highly recommend staying at Casa Mirador.

United StatesOther reviews have mentioned the stairs, but we didn’t mind it because 1) that’s how you get the view and 2) Carlos always offers to help with luggage. One downside of the location is that you have to walk ~10 min to get picked up for tours (big buses won’t go to Plaza San Blas) and you’re often one of the first to get picked up, which could mean ~30 min less sleep given the 3-4am pick ups - that said, we thought it was well worth it, for the pros above.
The view is AMAZING. When you’re doing back-to-back day tours and need to choose between exploring the city or getting enough sleep, it’s nice to still be able to briefly enjoy the view of the city before passing out. Room is small but comfy, and has everything you need. Also, Carlos is the nicest host ever, and made us feel safe and welcome from the moment we landed in Cusco (he even talked to our Uber driver to make sure we didn’t get scammed).
