They have so many hidden charges not highlighted on booking.com The staff were not very friendly nor helpful. When we asked to pay with card, the staff member “Joel was quite rude”. And when we asked about the additional charges Joel said “all our guests who book with booking.com have the same problem. It’s an additional 10%, and “wellness fees” for each person for their wellness activities.” At other Selina’s they don’t charge you a wellness fee.. you just pay for yoga or activities if you’re interested. We ended up paying almost 30USD additional. The facilities just tick boxes. Eg When we went to use the coworking space no one was in there but staff having a break. The lights were off, everything was musty and dusty. Another example, there is a pool but it’s part of the rooftop abr and out of 4 days staying there I never saw anyone use it. The concrete they use for the pool is really sharp, so it feels more like a fountain. Also, the rooftop is a public bar & downstairs in the basement is also a club so … if you like to party that’s great, but if you want to rest, be prepared for noisy nights. There are some things they advertise which they don’t actually deliver. Like they don’t have 24/7 reception during “low season”, they have 24/7 security though (because the place is basically a club open to the public”. We originally booked the micro room with shared bathroom, which is so not worth the price. It’s a little concrete box. It was very mouldy so after we complained that we had paid so much for a mouldy room, they actually upgraded us & the room with private bathroom was much nicer. Also, I did yoga one morning and got bitten by so many mosquitos. You’d think they’d have that under control indoors. The kitchen is so dirty. It has layers of scum everywhere due to the humidity, but no one cleans it property.

The location is perfect.

The sound isolation is terrible and the music from the bars kept me awake at night even though I had earplugs.

This is a Hostel not a hotel. The description is misleading and my hostel days are passed. It clearly caters to younger and (often) louder people.

Location is good but close to some really sketchy areas. Easy walking distance to all of Casco Viejo. Rooftop bar has a great view and the pool is up there.

The location is not great, you are on the edge of casco viejo and the hotel is very close to a club which is playing loud music the whole night.

The private rooms are good and has a nice restaurant on the rooftop.

I understand that cleaning is not very demanding for the price, but they could do more. The bed linen smelled like it had been poorly washed.

The location is very good, I like the hotel has a surf or hippie style. The rooftop parties are great. The hotel is very nice and has plenty of places to take some really nice photos. They give you a welcome cocktail and is good

It turns into a party hotspot for a lot of people not staying in the hotel - there’s a rooftop bar and then basement club. So a lot of youth mostly just in and around it over the weekend. Therefore didn’t really feel typical to accommodations. As other posters have said it’s loud. I was there on Friday and Saturday night and on the floor immediately under the rooftop. That being said I had earplugs and was coming from an exhausting few weeks so managed sleep just fine. If you want to party then it would be perfect. The walking tour was a bit basic tbh. He barely described buildings or much of history besides Panama Canal.

I had a private room and it was exactly as described. Plenty of space in the room, air con was functional. Location was central too.

The only complaint I have is the rooftap bar caused it to be loud in the room thu/sat but that is to be expected at a hostel with a rooftop bar.

We loved the hostel. Very social and the free walking tour they offer was amazing. We had a really good time. The rooftop pool was really fun to hang out in.

- super noisy (party on top and if you're unlucky in the basement as well, yoga music in the morning... So depending on your room you'll either can't fall asleep or get woken up quite early) - room was damp and smelled bit mouldy... Therefore clothes as well - super small room for two people with not much space to place luggage do we had to store it behind the door und couldn't really open it much anymore

-all in one concept (tattoo studio next door, cafe at bottom, restaurant and bar on top, free yoga in the mornings...) - lot of areas to relax - lots of activities such as free walking tours (which are awesome) - location good, walkable to loads of things in old town

No TV on the room. Bathroom was very dirty (bunch of hair in the shower and all over the floor. The Burger on the roof restaurant was the worst I ever had. Even the $1 McDonald's Hamburger is way better.
