The only thing if I have to say it would be the location. It’s not bad, just not easy for those without their own vehicles.

it’s great overall! The girls were so excited and amazed about their room. Took lots of photos and selfies. The owner even turned the heaters on for us prior to our arrival, that was really nice and caring. Definitely can tell that the owner pays attention and care not just on the property overall, also the interior decoration. It was a great stay. Surely would go back next time when we visit Christchurch.

The first night my two friends and I were finishing up celebrating my birthday and in all fairness we were being a bit loud, but instead of just a kind reminder to quiet down, we got threatened to get kicked out. It just kind of rubbed us the wrong way and we felt a bit uncomfortable the rest of the time because we didn’t want to get talked to again but did have to get up before quiet hours were over, for example. Just wish the situation would have been handled differently.

Good budget accommodation, handy to hospital and beach, comfy room with all we needed. Great value for budget traveller. A step up from holiday park cabin. Best to have own transport as distance from city., it suited our needs

You can hear people in the other rooms walking around there rooms, the shower was lovely, but kept falling off the holder that holds it in place and had to hold it myself.

We liked the price because we didn't arrive till late, and really just needed a bed for the night. Was a great location, and we were 10 minutes from meeting on pages road and didn't have to fright traffic. Absolutely loved the bed.

The door to our room (No 4) was hidden behind another door. We had to self check in and almost didn't find it... New Brighton is not the same as we remembered it from before the earthquake, there should have been many shops and people but it was very quiet. Hopefully it will improve again soon. Such a lovely place.

Lovely room with wonderful garden view. Very quiet. Had a microwave and water cooker with coffee/tea in the room 🙂 Bathroom was spacious and very nice. Everything was clean. Very easy to park the car in front of the accommodation on the street. Quick drive into New Brighton to the beach and supermarket. Would have loved to stay longer than one night.

Dirty lamp shade just gross. Got warned about my iPad being loud at 9:15pm and yet the next night I got disturbed by the neighbours until 1am. The walls are paper thin.

It’s pushing things to call this a hotel. It’s a residential house converted into a backpackers more than anything. The room was comfortable but tired, with plastic on the windows, some wood rot in the bathroom and no soap at the sink. The fridge was in the bathroom but contained no milk, and while kettle and cups were provided, there were no teaspoons. When we asked, we were told the milk was in the shared kitchen, in the fridge with the big sign about not taking anything that wasn’t yours from it. The room also had a wifi sign that was just written on a paper and stuck to the cupboard door. The manager with his gorgeous dog lived in the same building, and while that wasn’t at all an issue for us, it just felt like we were staying in his house, not a hotel.

Is was in the summer house out back and the free WiFi didn't 'reach' my room and I couldn't connect. And there was no communal room that I could sit and use it.

I was just unlucky to be in room n.5 which is separated from next room just by wooden door, so you can cleraly hear every word and the can hear yours. We had unfortunatelly snoring neughbour so we didnt sleep for two nights.

Quiet street in Central New Brighton. Large room, with a very large attached bathroom. This room faces the road, rather the garden so gets the morning light.

Washing machine beeping incessantly when housekeeping loads were done during the afternoon, and in the morning, They're located in the kitchen, close to the rooms. I totally understand the need to keep up with the washing, busy hosts etc, the location of the machines just didn't seem ideal to me. No cooking oil provided/replenished. A bread knife would of been a helpful addition and sharp knives would of been greatly appreciated.

Comfy bed, great host, lovely dog, good location. My room had it's own large bar fridge and microwave. Plenty of towels/linen provided.
