Not your average backpackers. The bed was super comfortable and the view from my room was spectacular. Modern but cosy feel, all the small details were not missed. Well equipped kitchen, clean bathrooms and beautiful garden. I loved the pinboard in the dining room and the multiple common areas had wonderful attention to detail. I absolutely loved my stay here and will be back to visit again.

It is a very small hostel. I didn't feel like staying in a hostel, but staying at someone's house. It was really comfortable and close to the city center. Would definitely book again.

- If the heater is more powerful to be warmer, it would be great - Bed mattress was a bit soft

- Enough off street parking along the street - Within walking distance to Harbour Street and Friendly Bay - Self check-in and check-out was easy and smooth - Good kitchen, utensils and cutlery were available - Water in bathroom was hot and strong enough for shower

Nothing comes to mind apart from the fact it's about a 20 minute walk from the bus stop. But the walk is along the main road and you come across the old town, so you will already get a good impression of the town on your way there :)

So comfy, beautifully decorated, clean and warm. One of the best hostels I have stayed in. They provide a towel, and free cereal and spreads (jam, marmite, etc.) and there were so many games, books, a TV and a massage chair. Granted, it is very quiet, so you won't be encountering too many people. But I think that can be nice.

This backpackers was 100% the nicest place I’ve stayed in New Zealand. It was immaculately clean, beautifully furnished and welcoming. The lounge areas were warm, clean and cosy and it genuinely felt like a home away from home. This property is an absolute credit to the owners for the care and attention to detail they put into the place. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough. Thank you! Also loved the way the beds were made and the cute penguin theme ☺️

It was the best accomodation I have stayed in on this holiday. Gorgeous lounge areas, furnished like a loved home. Bedrooms & bathroom comfortable, very clean.

My room was good, with a comfortable bed but the walls are super thin and the first night was a bit noisy. But anyways, that's a problem related to people who don't know how to behave in a hostel or don't care about others... however, Sunday night was super quiet and I had a good rest.

Great location, super clean hostel. It take a few minutes to figure out how things work with no staff around but it's super easy. There's no staff around but you can contact the duty manager if you have any questions, I messaged her before checking out to ask for a storage room and she replied super quickly. Make sure you use the massage chair in the lounge while you admire the views!! Also, there's a veggie garden and you can pick some fresh fruits when in season. Overall my stay was very good and I will stay again if I go back to Oamaru 😀.

Online Check in and many signs are a bit overwhelming at first, but work well.
