Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere was unfortunately a resonance when the ranch slider was closed, this produced a howling sound. We managed to sleep through it though. Parking was going to cost $40/day through the hotel. We parked in the adjacent Victoria St carpark and left our car there 48hrs, Fri- Sun, this cost us $40 total.
Apartment was spacious & comfortable, facilities all working and clean. Bed was really comfy. Indoor heated swimming pool was really nice. Both indoor and outdoor spa pool. Close walking distance to nice restaurants, cafes, shops, and parks. Staff were friendly, easy check in & out. Nice views from room and balcony, we were in a harbour view apartment on 24th floor.

United StatesNothing much, but the windows did need cleaning from the outside. Guess the windy weather can be a factor for this.
Very large room with a good view of the city if you have a high floor. Good location near restaurants and shopping. Close to the piers for ferries. Comfortable room and bed.

United StatesA bit on the expensive side, but there was a major event on which no doubt pushed up the prices. There was a table in the room but it wasn’t great as a work desk.
Great location, friendly staff, clean and spacious apartment, very comfortable bed. Gym and pool available to use, 24 hour reception.

SpainFantastic. The location is perfect because it’s right next to Queen St, so you have everything nearby. The apartments are very comfortable and well-equipped. It’s quite peaceful, and there’s a pool and gym on the 8th floor. We had a very pleasant experience.

The facilities, cleanliness and friendliness were all excellent. The location is wonderful. The city is easily accessed but the surrounding area is quiet with a lovely park directly opposite. The Avani exceeded our expectations and we were very happy with our choice. :-)

United StatesNeither of the spas worked in the pool area. A lot of appliances in the room (clock radio, range and range hood) were turned off, and if you didn't know the trick for turning them on, you couldn't use them. I was in a room that was accessible for a person with a mobility impairment, including a roll-in shower that was difficult to use without soaking the entire bathroom floor.
I liked having a kitchen. The staff was helpful. The room had a lot of storage space.

AustraliaTwo spas, the inside one was freezing cold and the outside one looked like people had spent the whole day peeing in it. It was far too suspiciously cloudy to want to use it. We saw many people walk out, look at it and walk back to the pool instead. It was pretty gross. Parking is also far too expensive.
We had a two bedroom apartment. It had everything we needed including two bathrooms, a full kitchen and a laundry. Beds were comfortable, shower was lovely. Pool was very nice. Location was great. Staff at front counter were very helpful.

New ZealandShower door wasn't water tight and the shower water leaked all over the floor. Bathroom had poor lighting. I think a bathroom upgrade is needed.
I loved the city and seas views from the 26th floor. Very comfortable and quiet. Clean and spacious. Great location, very easy to walk everywhere I needed to go during a conference in the cbd. Friendly, helpful staff. The pool and spa pool were fabulous. I would definitely stay again.
