My partner and I don't drink so we never ventured into the Champagne Bar, which was the front room in the main building, it was empty every time we passed; it didn't seem to be much of a hit with other guests. We didn't opt in for the continental breakfast, instead choosing to wander downtown to the cafes for a more substantial meal. I did hear that they had fantastic coffee but didn't sample it myself. I generally expect a hotel to have a restaurant for all meals, but there were other options in Kaikoura for dinner.

Nice courtyard, bathroom was spacious, clean room, excellent location, lovely staff, overall presentation was good.

Bathroom was okay but dated, cistern cover was loose on the wall, dripping sound behind the basin cowling. Two different flooring types. Room was quite small.

Good bed with good linens, nice styling in main room. Excellent toiletries. Good secret cupboard with crockery etc and nice to have a coffee maker. Excellent breakfast with great view to the sea, and very nice and helpful staffer.

We enjoyed our stay here and will come back. The hotel was charming and the staff friendly and genuine. We stayed in a Junior Suite and the room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony looking out to the mountains and sea. We also had a treatment at the day spa and Elaine was wonderful. Would highly recommend getting the massage. The Champagne/Martini bar was lovely & relaxing. There wasn't a lot of options for someone with food allergies but the one option was tasty.

We were disappointed that common area adjacent to the bar closed at 7pm for we would have enjoyed that space with a few cocktails, especially in light of the small size of the room.

Adorable facility with wonderful common areas. Location is fabulous.

The room needed a thorough clean. Thick dust on blinds. Carpet at the door needed attention. Would have been better with a coffee plunger so that hot coffee was on offer

I was not aware that the front Desk was completely Closed and unavailable orher than between 2 and 7pm . We could not get our heat to work in the room , and nobody answered our call. And tried ALL methods to adjust the temp in room with no success. Also , No Gluten Free toast was available when my husband asked for an additional slice at breakfast. The Breakfast Bar was the least extensive of any of the locations we stayed at during our 3 week journey . We also had no parking spot available when returned from our dinner , so we had to park not in a spot on the property and i think we are just lucky we didn't get a ticket! ...

Location, and the front desk staff was lovely . The court yard was quaint. The Location was Perfect . (Between the town and the Seal Colony) . Lovely view .

Bar appeared to only open occasionally.

Quiet location with comfortable accommodation, 200-300 m away from Dolphin & Albatross Encounter Tours and their popular cafe. Our room opened onto a pleasant courtyard area, which would be a nice spot to sit on a sunny day. It's a pleasant level 1.2 km walk to cafes and restaurants in town and a similar distance to the Pier Hotel.

The balcony needed cleaning and felt unstable in places.

Not the warmest of welcomes as we were early and wanted to drop off our luggage. But well recovered. The room was not that big and we struggled with space.

The hotel is right on the road so a little noisy and breakfast (which was an additional charge) was not great value for money (albeit tasty).

Comfortable bed with a cute balcony overlooking the bay. The toiletries provided were of spa quality- fabulous. The staff were friendly and helpful- Erin the manager in particular.
