The stairs outside our room which lead to the staff area were very noisey and kept us awake of a night time and the staff were quite loud overnight so we found ourselves running off minimal sleep. We also had to request for new towels and for the room to be serviced which we thought would just be part of the service.

It was in a fantastic location and had everything you could’ve wanted including a washing machine which we really liked

Bed mattresses could do with a replacement. Needs a dish cloth for kitchen benches in apartment.

Location to the main centre. Warm room, nice linen and bathroom towels.

Room was right next to the hostel's bathrooms and the front door, so it was a little noisy at some times - but over all it wasn't too bad, especially considering it was a Saturday night. Bathrooms were a bit messy, but they're communal bathrooms after all.

Friendly staff and a comfy bed in a clean room, really close to the centre of Queenstown. The economy double room had a shared bathroom as noted in the listing, and was very basic, but it was fine for a surprise nights' stay after my flight was cancelled. It felt like it had a good, friendly communal hostel vibe for any travellers into that.

Very hard to find due to road works. No signs to direct us to Haka House despite road works making it awkward. We drove around for an hour before calling and we still could not find it. Tea and coffee provided but no milk. When we asked for milk was told we have to find our own. Very limited parking so we had to park a 10 minute walk away up a hill. Noisy at night.

Room was clean and good size and comfortable. Staff friendly.

Would’ve been nice to have a mirror in the room as there is a shared bathroom. Lots of construction outside hostel, understandable this is out of your control but it was noisy.

Lovely staff and convenient location close to town.

The laundry room was occupied when we needed it, only had 2 washing machines. Music was loud after 11pm and housemates often didn’t respect the quiet hours in the kitchen. Showers weren’t very clean.

The location and the kitchen facilities! Great accommodation for people on a budget. 5 minute walk from almost anything around Queenstown, less than 3 minutes to the nearest bus.

This place is a bit of a maze. Facilities were nice enough but not modern/updated and also sometimes not clean. Dorm room was small, and there are gaps between the bunks and the wall so things can easily fall down.

The hostel is just a couple blocks from the center of town, which is great. We had a heater that we could control so despite it being freezing outside I was never cold in my room. I loved how each bed had a charging port, a light, AND curtains on all exposed edges -- was fantastic and made your bunk more comfortable. The staff were also friendly. The hostel was very quiet while I was there; I enjoyed spending time at the big table in the kitchen. Was great to have two separate kitchens for guests to use. Overall had a pleasant stay.

One young blonde haired male staff member unlocked and entered our room without notice, permission or knocking while one of us was inside. When we questioned why he did this he said it was to collect rubbish but he had only opened the door to peer in, no rubbish was collected and did not apologise. Felt unsafe and uncomfortable about this and security of ourselves and belongings.

Stayed in room 7, footsteps from the kitchen (above) were undeniably loud, sometimes until the middle of night. Staff keep closing the only window for air circulation without notice.

The rooms got cold very quickly. The space was very limited. The showers were poor. They need to be looked at. The water pressure was low, the cleanliness was low and the bathroom was always wet when someone had used them.

The location was perfect as it was in a quiet enough location that the traffic was not felt. The room was a double bunk and it was very tight for space. The storage facilities under the bunk beds were however very big. The dining area and kitchen was ideal.
