Wonderful location, fantastically well equipped, and really great communication. The bed was the most comfortable I think I’ve ever slept in.

This is npt actually something i didnt like just a tip for next guests, The washing machine shakes the floor of the house on spin cycle, took us hot minute to realize that's what it was and being from Christchurch was bit scary until we realized what it was haha.

Love love love the views, and they installing a spa on the balcony soon can't wait to try that next time.

Wouldn’t change an anything, but guests should be aware you have to climb a few stairs to get to the property- a bit of a work out with our cases, but well worth it :)

We were delighted with our stay in this property. Located on a hillside above a quiet street the sense of place, of harmony in its surroundings, was pervasive. It draws you in and calls you back. During daylight hours the property is flooded with light and, from its terrace, offers a bird's eye view over the town of Picton. The contemporary architecture is inspirational and the accommodation itself is very comfortable. We would have liked to have extended our stay but, unfortunately for us, the property is very popular.

Loved everything about Firkins Retreat. You can tell Brad and family/friends really thought about the design and layout. The mod con’s were a fun and convenient element. Cannot fault, we loved our stay!

The property was fantastic. It wasn't far from shops, restaurants, etc. It was exceptionally clean and Brad has done an excellent job enabling people like us to enjoy his Airbnb. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Loved it and would definitely stay again. I was a little disappointed that we only had one night there. Thanks for everything Brad.

The only thing i didnt like was that there are so many stairs before you reach the accommodation and im not a fit person so i had a lil asthma attack when i reach the top.

We like how it was close to everything and the view is so amazing. The house is quite modern and i was so fascinated by it. It was in a quiet neighbourhood which is so great. They have everything you need in there. The host was so welcoming. Brad always messaging making sure that we are comfortable. Overall the house is so great especially the story why they made it.

The property is very well presented and appointed, loved the rustic look of the outside complimented with the modern interior, a credit to the owners. The story behind the property is pretty special to but I'll leave that for future guests to find out for themselves. I thought the guitar and the takeaway coffee cups were very nice thoughtful little touches :-). Oh and the reclining couch made a movie watch extra comfortable. And to top it off the views are fantastic. Highly recommend a visit for a couple looking for some peace and quiet not too far from the marina.

Perfect for couple and one child if only sleeping otherwise with kids pull out bed there wasn't much room. Housekeeping only left 2 towels when 3 people booked. There were signs on workbench to ask you to use chopping boards but we searched all cupboards and couldn't find a single board 😂

Clean, tidy, modern but had character. Nice views.
