Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe ONLY thing we didn’t like was that we could hear our neighbours quite clearly moving around and talking. Think there may have been activities we could have done but didn’t get any information about them beforehand.
View was spectacular. Saw sea eagles have their breakfast before we had ours! Staff friendly. The restaurant and food was lovely though very expensive.

United KingdomCurtains in the room were not blackout, but we still managed to sleep okay.
This hotel is an old fishing village on its own island, and you get a hotel transfer by boat from the dock at the end of the Atlantic road, so a great way to approach the hotel, if you are heading northwards. The short boat trip was an experience in itself. The hotel has its own pub which is very comfy and atmospheric. The set evening menu was excellent, as was the buffet breakfast, especially considering that they were catering for no more than 20 people when we stayed. All diners had sea/Mountain View’s from their tables. Our room was one of the old fisherman’s huts, which has been tastefully modernised, including underfloor heating in the bathroom. You can explore the 5 acres of the island and there are some good vantage points for photography.

The hotel, restaurant, and island are perfection! The staff are all very nice and go above and beyond to make the stay great. The room was wonderful; so cozy and comfortable. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was the best dining experience I had in Norway. The dinner is a bit expensive, but worth every krone.

United KingdomBar was a bit too rustic for me, and smelled of old fishing ropes but I guess that was the point.
Fabulous and unusual location. A real private island feel, lovely view in all directions. A chance to see and experience the old houses of authentic Norway. Great to arrive by boat. Very close to visit and experience the Atlantic road . Great food and wine and breakfasts freshly cooked.

EstoniaIt is like an oasis! Definitely a place to stay if you visit Ocean Road. We were one of those oldest houses on the island and it was really comfy and beautiful. There is an excellent restaurant on the island and a Viking ship museum. Quiet place to relax and kids found this place adorable. And free parking near the harbor, to go free boat to the island.

United KingdomThis is an incredibly special place and we loved our stay. From the moment we were picked up on the 'viking boat', to watching the most stunning sunset absolutely uninterrupted over an awe-inspiring landscape we loved our stay. The staff were super-friendly and accommodating, the room was comfortable and beautifully furnished and the breakfast delicious.

AustraliaOur room had no insulation so it was almost like being in the same room with the guests next door, who unfortunately included 3 very excited noisy teens who rampaged until after 11pm. A terrible night’s sleep unfortunately.
Amazing location. An experience to stay in an historical building. The staff were very good and the restaurant was excellent.

SwedenNo fridge and bathroom could be upgraded since it’s not an original detail of the historic cottage. An option to rent a small motorized boat would be nice. The prices on Booking.com seem to be quite a bit higher than on the hotel website.
Location, exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, breakfast (quality instead of quantity!) Our child enjoyed exploring the cottage and the village.

IsraelIt can get quite hot at night, and it is not always possible to keep the windows open because of the strong winds. Also no curtains that can help you with the light at night, so bring blindfolds with you.
The location is amazingly unique, the views are breath taking, and the silence is very appreciated. Breakfast was very good, and so was the bar in the evening. Very good wi fi. The cabin was spacious and comfortable, the shower was great.

A hotel in a unique location, on a small, absolutely beautifully landscaped island. The cottage was stylishly decorated, there was everything you need. An additional advantage is the nice and helpful staff.

United KingdomThe dinner menu didnt take account of preferences, such as our dislike of eating whale. Breakfast was fairly minimal compared to other cheaper hotels in Norway. In the rooms there is no where to hang a wet coat.
Location was fantastic, and staff were friendly and exceptionally helpful. The whole experience was chilled and relaxed.

NorwayWe had booked dinner for the evening, and had expected seafood, so we were a bit dissapointed when they served duck. They did not have any choices, but the dinner varies from day to day.
We got free transport with a boat from the mainland to the island - it was easy to park close to the small harbour, it was very convenient. We stayed in a wonderful cottage with good facilities, and a wonderful view of the sea. The breakfast was good with a lot of choices. We loved walking around on this small island with old and charming buildings, and the feeling of being in the nature. The pub and the restaurant were very delicat and charming in their style.
