Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Friendly staff at arrival. Staff in the morning was not so helpful as we brought a dog along and they didn’t really offer alternatives except having breakfast outside with the ‘smokers’. Only after asking we could sit inside.

United KingdomWe made it in time for check-in, which closes fairly early at 9pm, could be restrictive for some people. The breakfast was served until 9.30am, which was a little too early for us and we felt quite rushed.
The room was all we needed for a good night's sleep. The bed in particular was very comfy. The hotel was fairly close to the train station, about 10 min's walk. Breakfast selection was good on the whole, particularly liked the "make your own waffles". We were able to leave our luggage near reception after check out, as our onward train was not until mid-afternoon.

NorwayThe Wi-Fi was sadly a bit flaky at times, with disconnections being frequent, and even when connected, the speed and reliability was a bit lacking. Would also have been nice to have a small fridge in the room.
The breakfast was quite nice, and the location was super convenient with the shuttle busses to the ski lifts. Staff was kind, and we didn't have any problem at our stay, helping us find where the bus stops to go to the ski lifts.

The location of the hotel is great. I arrive for couple of days on my skying trip and the slopes was just few minutes away from this hotel. Room was nice and clean. I liked the internal atmosphere of the hotel. Very cozy place. In general nice hotel for short stay.

United KingdomWe hadn't realised there was no kettle or coffee maker available in the room, and only realised on the last day we could have filled a thermos of hot water (free) or coffee (45nok) from the restaurant each day. Limited choices for dinner at the hotel restaurant although there are several restaurants within close walking distance. The beds are singles which are pushed together which was fine but less comfortable than a double or king bed.
Brilliant location - 5 minutes walk from the main town and train station. Extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Nice warm room with beautiful views. Fantastic breakfast.
