Breakfast wasnt big, but you get all kinds of cold things and bread, which is plenty and tasty. The floor and doors make a lot of sounds when walking, opening / closing them....

The location is perfect and the view is insane. You can go on many hikes near this Hotel. The rooms are nice and big, you have a balcony with a good view and the bath is clean. Beds are comfortable and temperature in the rooms are good.

Amazing views over the canyon when the clouds allow visibility. It's got a lovely story to it and although it's very old fashioned we found that to be part of the charm. The staff were lovely and made us feel very welcome. We loved the viewing platform over the waterfall and the walk.

Worth the cost if you want to see Vøringsfossen from your room

The floor is made of wood and makes noise when walking on it. We were conscious of walking on it so as not to make too much noise. The breakfast was quite average.

The location is great which is right in front of the Vøringsfossen. It is useful because you can visit the waterfall in the evening and morning when there are few tourists. I would suggest visiting the waterfall before 9 AM because by 9:30 there were already quite many tourists. The hotel is also interesting if you like history and historical things. They have provided some information about the hotel and its founders.

Don’t ask for scrambled or poached eggs. You’re directed to the boiled ones as the only option.

Location. Location. Location!!! Right at the top of the falls. Totally spectacular. The hotel is old and tired but the management have made an effort to spruce things up a bit. The rooms are a reasonable size and relatively comfortable. The bathrooms have had a superficial makeover. Everything seems to be shiny and new but in keeping with the old. Dinner was good but don’t be excited that there’s creme caramel on the menu. It’s not the best. Breakfast was a bit ho-hum and a bit of a non-event. A bit of fruit salad might be a nice addition to the selection.

Excellent stay at this Hotel. Perfect location for my travels through western Norway. If you like modern facilities this isn’t the hotel for you, but I loved the character of the place taking me back in time. Rooms are basic but enough for what I needed. Major pro was its proximity to Voringfossen Waterfall which just a few steps outside the doors. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was excellent. The hotel has a elegant historic charm about it. Must have been the place for the "well to do " in it's early years. Glad to see they have kept it's originality.

No elevator and breakfast ended at 9:30 after we were told it is till 10.

The location is amazing, on the edge of the waterfall. The lobby and dining room are wonderful spaces, with fittings appropriate to the early 1900s atmosphere, including a piano used by Norwegian composer Edvard Greig when he used to stay there.

With its age, some things cannot be easily changed. The rooms are noticeably small, but it would be a major effort to change that.

This is an old, and "classic" accommodation, with the characteristics that come with age: small rooms, no glitzy aspects, but an inherent character in its appearance and disposition. I enjoy that. Old-fashioned elements (a foot pedal Singer sewing machine, for instance, add charm. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

Old property with limited electrical outlets and weak wifi. No elevator to reach my room on the 4th floor. The bed wasn't too comfortable.

Great location providing a spectacular trail just in front of the hotel with a view of a major waterfall. Although the hotel was sold out, it was extremely quiet.
