Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Really nice place to stay if traveling by car, with parking available at the hotel. The metro is about a 10-minute walk away. Meals are available at the hotel, or you can prepare your own in the kitchen. The bar area has a lively atmosphere, there’s a separate room for watching Netflix, and a space for kids’ activities

AustraliaWay too small for 3 adults. A bit far from the city but bike hire + Uber worked well. The staff are not the most helpful. There is a lot of self check in spots but if you have an issue or need help you could wait up to 30 minutes for assistance. Only 2 washers and dryers for a huge amount of backpackers and hotel guests which made it hard, waited for hours to get in to wash our own clothes. No cash on site so had to get coins from a convenience shop which isn’t very close by…
Room was lovely easy to access. Bed was comfy. Great shower. Bike hire was great and easy to use.

United KingdomThere's a noise all night long from the air conditioner. - disturbing sleep. Bed was awful- mattress had a hole at a side! Microwave is difficult to reach for short people- too high. Also not allowed to use it other than to warm something. Not really helpful Good for 2 people but 3 would be a bit crowded- our group was 3. Night reception can be a bit more helpful- they seem to be clueless at times. Basic.
Location is great. Clean nice suite for 2 people. Has a restaurant downstairs. A safe is available. Had a dishwasher. Day Reception was very nice and helpful.

HungaryThe most ridiculous and inconvenient aircon system ever (you can adjust temperature +/- 3 degrees, but not sure compared to what (outside?!), we had cold wind and turned on heat (in July) the same night, until we removed the electricity card, which thankfully stopped it), dust (come on, please use a vacuum cleaner!), outside noises (we had some drumming, saxophone and machine sound from outside, but raindrops are also quite audible).
Great location (close to train+metro station, supermarket), helpful and kind staff (we had a broken shower tab - they fixed it fast), good separation of the hostel and the suites, practical room design (not big, but doesn’t feel small), comfy beds, daily refill of coffee capsules, fridge, great view (room 435), cinema in the lobby!

United KingdomIt's location is a little way from the city centre but the train links to and from and easy enough, plus getting to the airport was equally easy. There's a few restaurants in walking distance that are really good. Shame the pool table in the hotel wasn't up and running.
Firstly the staff are amazing, they helped us rearrange our suite so all the boys (5) can stay in one room. The staff did their up most to ensure our stay was comfortable. Unfortunately I've forgotten the names of two members of staff in particular that went beyond to make sure everything was to our needs. But the team in general are great.

GermanyIf you do not mind staying 20-30 mins away from the centre of Amsterdam, this is a great option. The rooms are big and spacious. It was flexible to change check-in time on the day of arrival too, they have a reception with options for late check-in too I think.
