Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandA window with natural light into the room could have been nice, and some of the beds are super creaky- the big gap between the bed and the wall (was on top bunk) sketched me out 🥲
The location is incredible! Walking distance/ easy tram ride around the city, the complimentary (!!) breakfast is amazing! Loved all the options and the quality was great. The pancakesss- oof 😮💨😋 Loved the decor & bright colour scheme of the place- and there are ring lights on all the mirrors 😆🤩 the staff are friendly & helpful. Thanks team!

SingaporeUsed the shared toilets but they were rather small in size, with only a single hook for me to hang my items and it was honestly a balancing game half the time. Found the sheets rather dirty with dust and strands of hair, and there were stains on certain towels even if they were new. Cleanliness was unfortunately the biggest problem I had with the hotel.
The location was great, central, and within walking distance from everything iconic. Attractions, good food, metro and trams all within a few minutes walk. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent, though choices are limited and it was the same items across the three days we were there. The bed was comfortable, though! Thankful for the aircon too because we visited in the summer!

United StatesThe hotel was under renovations, but it was decent stay. The room was tiny and there was a small breakfast to go. The stairs were super narrow and steep. Everything was compact, which isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s good to know what you’re getting into :)
Great view of the canals and the staff were so friendly. The location was fantastic. Given there were renovations at the time, everything was very clean and well maintained.

United StatesThe building is old so you can hear quite a bit of noise from other rooms, creaking, walking, talking, and outside. Bring ear plugs. We expected that though and were prepared. Overall great stay!
Location was perfect for walking around Amsterdam. In the red light district, but not in the crazy part that is loud all night. Also perfect spot for biking the city. Rented bikes next door, they give you a discount if you’re staying at the hotel. The buffet breakfast was good. 10 min. walk from the train station, easy to find.

United Arab EmiratesSome of the receptionists were not supportive. Requested for fresh towel 3 times however it was not replaced still. A big minus that they don’t have rooms separately for female and male so I ended up staying in the room with 5 guys. One guy was snoring a lot but that’s a disadvantage of hostel place what to do.
This place is the best because if it’s location, right in the center. Comfortable beds, most of the places are clean. Not much variety but tasty breakfast free of charge. Very good value for money.

United KingdomThe door slams instead of a gentle close. I got awaken a few times by people going in and out of the room
Comfortable beds, there are lockers in the room with a pin code, lovely overhead shower, hair dryer available. Breakfast was very good. There was ham, cheese, fresh sliced tomatoes, bread, small pancake, sausage, boiled eggs, cereal, hot drink. Very filling and tasty. I forgot to bring my adaptor and the receptionist lent me one. There were also hangers in the room which was useful.

SwedenDormatory room with six beds. Small but very tidy. Big under bed drawer with combination lock was very good. Also the curtains at every bed space to keep the light out and create more privacy when sleeping. Hostel just finishes total renovation. It was very clean and fresh everywhere. Staff present at all time at reception. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast included. Very nice buffet and nice coffre from à machine. I warmly recommend this place

For a hostel this has the be the cleanest and most well presented one I’ve seen. Easy check in. Great location. Aircon works really well in the room. Information in the lobby about free walking tour was a great recommendation, it’s a must do!

MoroccoIf the mattresses were a little larger, as you have the little board hanging out the wall, it takes part of the best you can lay on comfortably, but it wasn't that bad, it is just that I am a big dude.
The location is awesome, it s in the city center but in a more quiet street. I was in the third floor and there were no noises from outside. The room were clean and the facilities as well. The breakfast was simple and nice. You got an elevator which puts this place ahead of most hostels in town.
