Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe liked everything - it's a small space, but we knew that going in.
The location is perfect - the Inn is a wonderfully warm, clean, adorable place, and Matt was the consummate host, making sure every facet of our stay was great. The shared breakfast was delicious with a laid-back vibe, a really nice way to start every day. But more than that, being there was like staying with an old friend. Matt just couldn't be kinder, funnier, or more welcoming. We felt totally comfortable immediately, and we hated to say goodbye.

Where do I begin! Entering the front door makes you feel as though you are coming to see your beloved family. Our innkeeper, Matt, was wonderful and welcoming. He carried our bags to our room and we knew then that this was going to be perfect. A king sized bed and a big bathtub! How about beer and soda in the little refrigerator after a walk from the train station. Matt’s breakfast was so good and a great way to start the day. The best part, for us, was getting to know Matt and learn of the road to making Lastage Inn just was it is and that is perfectly perfect! Stay here! You will not regret your decision!

United StatesMatt was absolutely wonderful - friendly, helpful, always available. We loved the location, and the quietness of the neighborhood. Just a super place to stay. Stairs to the two rooms are very steep (even though Matt takes your luggage up), so this b and b wouldn’t be appropriate for people who can’t navigate steps.

United StatesThere was nothing we didn’t like.
The breakfast offered a variety on cereals, juice and fruit. There was yogurt, bacon, eggs and bread with spreads as well. It well presented, a wonderful window view and very accommodating. Matt is a great host with lots of insight and information. Our room was very comfortable and clean including an up to date bathroom. Complimentary treats and a mini fridge filled with a variety of drinks came with the room. The fresh flowers were an extra touch! Maps and local information was available and Matt was a great resource. The location was perfect. It was an easy walk to all the places of interest for us yet tucked away from the busy streets filled with people and businesses.

United KingdomNothing negative to say, and that is some statement considering we travel a lot! This is definitely up there in the best places we’ve stayed abroad. To anyone reading this, do yourself a favour and book this place when coming into Amsterdam!
Amazing and beautifully clean and cosy stay, Matt clearly is passionate about providing a great service to his guests and he does so exceptionally well. I came here with my girlfriend to watch the Formula One Dutch Grand Prix, we wanted somewhere that was nice, but also local to the train station to commute to the track. Typically, we never stay in bed and breakfast accommodation, usually hotels, however the succeeded our expectations and we would definitely come back here! Nothing is too much to ask for with Matt, he is a genuinely lovely guy and wants to get to know his guests and ensure they have a great time. Everything is well thought out, from the small details in the room, to the lovely breakfast he provides every morning. Perfect central stay everything within walking distance! Thank you so much Matt, and we will definitely be coming back and always recommending this to any friends or family who want to stay in Amsterdam!

United KingdomWe loved everything about our stay in Amsterdam with Matt. The inn is located centrally making it easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely deep bath, cosy bed, fridge full of free drinks and snacks. Breakfast was a real treat of cereal, fresh fruit and a cooked breakfast made by Matt. Matt was super helpful spending time with us and a map showing us where to find things in the city, recommending places to eat and helping us navigate the transport system. I'm sure we will be back as we were so well looked after and made to feel so welcome.

Breakfast was incredible, and always made to order. The location was exceptional -- so easy to walk to major destinations within the city, plus any nearby transit. The rooms felt beautifully decorated and maintained, and the whole place felt like home. The best part was of course getting to know Matt. He is so open, generous, and a completely gracious host. We felt like old friends by the time we left. Any time we find ourselves back in Amsterdam, we would be remiss not to stay at the Lastage Inn.

United KingdomMatt was a terrific host - super friendly and interesting, and he gave us some great tips, including a brilliant restaurant just around the corner. The room was very comfortable, with an amazing bed and well-equipped en suite. And the breakfasts were legendary: poached eggs, salmon and avocado on sourdough toast; fresh orange juice; great, locally-roasted coffee. An absolutely excellent stay. Will be back ASAP.

United StatesLocation is on a quiet street within walking distance of all the sights we wanted to visit while in Amsterdam. The bedding was made up with quality sheets, pillows, as well as a very comfortable mattress. The bathroom was recently updated, modern and also included high end shampoo, body wash and lotions. As a woman I really appreciate the Dyson hair dryer provided in the room..a really nice upgrade from standard hairdryers that hotels typically provide. Matt’s daughter graciously made delicious homemade chocolate fudge brownies and left them in our room each day. Matt also provides a mini refrigerator in the room stocked with choice selection of beers, sparkling water and sodas…all at no additional charge. The highlight of our stay was Matt’s 5 ⭐️ breakfast he prepared for us. Believe me it equally matched in taste and preparation to any 5 ⭐️ breakfasts we have experienced at the Four Seasons. Well done Matt and thank you for your gracious hospitality! We hope to be back.
