Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandNot very close to the railway station or downtown but the bus number 22 (I hope I remember this number right) can bring you closer to the hotel.
I had a transit flight and spent one night in this hotel. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. An amazing cat walking around. The hotel is rather historical in its own way.

United KingdomThe heating was far too good hahaha. The room was so hot it was a bit too much at times. But with the value we got and the location and the amazing team, I’m just nit picking. The place is awesome and will definitely stay again.
It was a great location, staff are phenomenal and the recommendations from the staff on where to go.

LithuaniaLocation is outside of the "main" part of Amsterdam, so had to do quite a bit of walking every day. Another thing: the building is quite old, and it was windy in my room overlooking the canal, so the old windows were really noisy.
Great friendly staff (including their cat and dog), cool bar downstairs.

IrelandThe room was not available for check in when directed. There was an event on the day of check in so bar and restaurant was full with some things like the pool table were not available. Food menu was limited for lunch and staff in restaurant weren't overly friendly. It was about 25-30 mins walk to the main area / Street of amsterdam.
The family room we booked was spacious, clean and bathroom was good. Room temperature was controlled by radiator as we needed it. We didn't hear any noise at nighttime either which was good. Check in staff was helpful with a map of amsterdam.

Building itself was very interesting as it is the former navy office (I think), and the interior and structure was not like the usual accommodation building. Restaurant and bar area has a very nice ambience. Also all staff members were very friendly and helpful. Additionally it is close enough to downtown area - not exactly walking distance, but tram would take you back and forth with no time, and it runs very frequently. And yes, the cat.

EgyptThe room was tiny, which I didn't mind as I was staying alone.
Lovely staff, iconic place & the view from the room was amazing & I think this was the most comfortable bed I ever came across in a hotel. The bar is nice with a lot of options for drinks and snacks.

United KingdomThis was the second time I stayed here. It's a great location and the staff are extremely friendly. It's not a luxury hotel but it doesn't pretend to be - the rooms are perfectly comfortable and everything is super clean and works fine. The staff are really lovely and friendly. This time I had the opportunity to have breakfast which was absolutely excellent - really recommended!

United StatesThe elevator is extremely slow and small
The location is great, next door to the Maritime museum and 20 minutes walk to Central Station. Room is clean and comfortable, but basic. Restaurant is fantastic, and breakfast was really good. I could sit by the window, enjoy my breakfast and watch people swim in the canal in winter.

FranceCompared to the volume of the food you receive, the price of the dinner was expensive. There are very limited restaurant or supermarket near the pension.
The rooms was so clean, cozy, and comfortable. My room had a very beautiful view and I really liked that. The staff were so lovely and helpful. The breakfast was nice, although a little expensive. Bus station is near the pension, and bus No. 22 passes by that which ends up in the central station.

United KingdomBreakfast needs to be reviewed. The choice is limited by high prices. Five euros for two boiled eggs with no bread or butter is a bit expensive as is two eggs and two sausages at 18 euros. There should be a buffet breakfast available.
The location of the place is just a short walk from the city centre and is nice and quiet at night. The staff, both young and old are very friendly and helpful. The evening food is very good however the menu is slightly limited. The breakfast was ok however a little expensive for what you get. This should not put you off staying here. I loved every minute

United KingdomLoved the quirky, bohemian feel of the place with a 60s/70s vibe and comfy, laid-back air. Great bar which was lively in the evenings with great playlist and selection of beers from the on site brewery. Felt like it had its own little local community…

United KingdomThis is a great place to stay, the rooms were great value for money with comfortable beds and hot shower. The staff are extremely friendly, food was great in the restaurant, and we enjoyed the bar with selection of craft beers too and a pool table. The location is away from busy Central but close to central station and not far to walk to the red light district. I would definitely stay here again next time.
