Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

South AfricaWe were colleagues (also brothers in law) travelling and staying together and twin beds are a non-negotiable. These twin beds were single beds right next to each other, which imo does not constitute "twin" beds as they generally need some space apart
Location is great, central, close to trams and the city centre. Room was spacious enough for the 2 of us besides no space between twin beds.

SingaporeAt check in was told that breakfast ias 21.90 euros. But when i went to eat, they said it was 26 euros. Apparently the 21.90 price is only if you let them know 1 day in advance. But this wasn't mentioned to me during check in.
Bed was huge, 3 of us slept in it and dint really need the sofa cum bed at all. Room size was good (may be since had booked for 3 people). The free drinks in the lobby (mint water, lemon water, orange water, etc.) was a very nice gesture I thought.

Great location close to vondel Park and popular sights such as Rijksmuseaum and Heineken Experience. With Trams right outside to take you through the city centre to Centraal Station. Nice bar inside the hotel with a little mini mart if you had any last minute requests. Also we were able to access our room when we arrived so 3hrs earlier than normal

PortugalAlthough they do have an interesting cleaning policy, as you can choose not to change the bath towels in exchange for a drink at the bar, which we ended up doing, our assessment is that the room wasn't vacuumed, which isn't very pleasant.
I really liked the location, which was super central, as well as the comfort of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff.

AustraliaEven though I was there for three nights I could never get room service to answer. Contacted reception who said they would ask them to call my room but that never eventuated. Travelling solo and getting late I opted to go downstairs to the bar each night and eat bar food.
I arrived on King's Day so to be fair it was very loud a long way into the night and I had a street facing room. Room was comfortable and clean.

United StatesThey didn’t have any of the little things like water in the rooms or extras you may need like a cotton round. Our body wash dispenser was not working in the shower. For the price, I would expect these things.
The room is extremely comfortable and quiet. It is clean. The shades work well and the location is easy to get around. The staff is nice.

Room was a nice size. Location was perfect! Liked that they had some channels on the television that were in english. Bonus was 2 free drinks daily if we decline having daily maid service.
