Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThese are little things, really, but: the pans in the kitchen are a little chipped and scratched, it would be worth changing them. Also, a towel and some dishwashing liquid would be useful (although there is a dishwasher available).
Fantastic position, very beautiful apartment. Comfortable bed. Top WiFi. Coffe machine with capsules available. Very nice host (and cat! 😍)

HungaryThe stairs to the apartment are quite steep and high and would be difficult to manage with big luggage. It wasn't a problem for us, but it is worth considering for less fit/elder people.
It it a great apartment, in excellent location, the museums are in 3 min walk, but even the city centre is only 15min walk away. The apartment is wonderful, stylish and has every amenities one would need. Perfect fit for two people. Han is a very nice host, he was available and helpful.

The apartment exceeded expectations - clean, comfortable, spacious, and ideal location (beside all of the art museums). We walked everywhere and it was on a bus route to the airport. We would highly recommend.

The apartment is lovely; very spacious and comfortable. It is located on the first floor with access stairs (no lift). Han is the host and met us at the apartment and showed us all the facilities. He was very helpful and easily contactable. He has done a lovely job in providing everything that you need; including fitness equipment. The bed is king size and very comfortable. TV has Netflix. Good wifi. Bathroom has full size bath and separate walk in shower and hairdryer. Combination washer/dryer in a cupboard next to a fully equipped kitchen and a Nespresso coffee pod machine. The apartment overlooks the museum district opposite the USA consulate and right near tram stops. Trams are easy (tap on and off with your credit card). Perfect and quiet location. There is a large below ground grocery store (Albert Heijn) within an easy walk across the park. The Corner Bakery literally around the corner for lovely coffee and breakfast. Han also recommended some restaurants which we also enjoyed. Namely The Seafood Bar and Izakaya Japanese, both an easy stroll. We highly recommend this lovely apartment especially if like us, you don’t want the bustle of the tourist district. Thank you for having us Han.

IsraelA bit of miscommunication with the owner resulted in a complaint by him to Booking.com for the “stench of weed” that we brought in. A five minute talk with us could have resolved the matter. Fortunately that small hiccup did not have a negative effect on our stay.
The location, the size and decor of the room were all amazing. I visit Amsterdam often, and that was the best place I’ve had the pleasure of staying in.

ItalyThere were some cleanness issues (a dirty frying pan and stained bathrobes clearly left like this by the previous guests and not controlled by the owner), but it didn't affect our stay and impression, after all.
The location and the view are excellent. Awesome interior design. A comfortable mattress. Also, it was warm, which I appreciated.

We liked everything it was like a little home from home. Hanz who greeted us was really nice and adhere to anything we asked for. We will definitely stay here again as the location is perfect and everything in Amsterdam is easier accessible via tram which is quite literally 100-200 meters away.

IndonesiaCar parking is a struggle, challenging at times. Not easy to find and very expensive. Thought amsterdam discourages us drivers to bring cars. Better take the public transportation here and get around with bicycle.
The location of the apartment is perfect! Host Han was warm and accommodating, he made sure checking-in was smooth. The apartment is lovely and big, cozy and warm, very comfortable bed, t&b is quite big too, with a vanity mirror (bonus for ladies!) and the view of the museums from the window was nice too. Free breakfast with vouchers are a plus, in a dainty breakfast place called corner bakery, it was heaven's!

SwedenEasy to get from the airport, 20 min by bus, even faster by taxi. All you need for your stay is at reach of hand (Albert Hejn supermarket). Great breakfast at bakery just around the corner, though fully equipped kitchen may help you to cook virtually anything by yourself. Calm location lets you have a good rest at night after busy working day or hilarious evening in the city center which is in walking distance via nice garden square. Or you may take tram (1 min walking) or metro (about 10 min to dePijp station).
