Their info brochure mentioned breakfast was until 10:30 during weekends and National Holidays. We were there on Pentecost Monday. But breakfast closed at 10:00, leaving us with very little leftovers, not worth 20 euro’s per person.

Nice location and building. Spacious room.

The shower set up is a bit difficult but I guess we don't want to interfere with heritage.

The warmth of a well maintained and comfortable old castle. The location is off center, but it works. The tasting dinner was perfect with seamless service. Excellent staff overall.

The quality of the mattress and the pillows wasn't great. The mattress in our first room was lumpy and one pillow was too big, the other too soft consisting of little pieces of foam - or at least that's how it felt. After a night of hardly any sleep, we were transferred to another room with two separate mattresses which was better. However, the pillows still weren't great. Also, the shower had a curtain instead of a door which I felt could be less hygienic if not cleaned after every guest. However, the curtain did look clean so it may just have been the thought of it. If the beds and pillows had been better I would have rated this property a 9 or maybe even a 10.

We loved the quiet location and the super friendly staff. The castle itself has a romantic feel to it. We had drinks around the fire place which was lovely and cozy. The onsite restaurant is fantastic. The food is creative and tasty. Breakfast was not included in the room price but we were glad we had paid extra for it. There isn't a huge choice, but the quality of the breakfast is wonderful. There was oven-fresh bread and pastries, eggs (scrambled as well as two types of boiled eggs), bacon, various types of cheese and cold cuts as well as muesli options with yoghurt and (plant based) milk. They served fresh orange juice/ tea/ great coffee. Highly recommend having dinner in the restaurant too. Absolutely delicious, Michelin star quality.

The bathroom could be a bit more modern, as well as the decoration of the room. The corridor can be quite noisy. The breakfast is expensive (18€) and you cannot really choose what you get.

Beautiful building in a wonderful environment. Spacious bedrooms. Really nice luxury products from Stella Maris in the bathroom. Very friendly staff.

the restaurant was not that special. my condition was not good, I order 3 dishes course menu, but could not eat 3rd dishes.( I said I would like to stop) but they charge for 3 dishes. we did not complain as well. so maybe I cannot complain afterwards.

it was my first suite room experience. they prepared the hand writing letter for us as well. the room was very pretty.

There wasn’t anything I can think of.

The location of the hotel is in charming Zeist. It is very nice and quite area. The hotel room is more on an outdated side but the hotel overall is charming and it did feel like a little getaway. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The food was good, too!

    Stunning hotel, but disappointing room.
    • Leisure trip

The bathroom was tiny and didn't even have enough space for toiletries, the room (Double Room) was rather outdated, and some of the furniture was damaged. The surroundings of the hotel were also a little disappointing as we were expecting lots of nature, but it was next to a massive apartment block, which was also our view from the room. Finally, breakfast was very underwhelming for €18 per person.

The castle itself was stunning, the public areas and restaurant were gorgeous, and there were some nice facilities available (e.g. the pool table downstairs). Staff was friendly. Easy to reach by public transport.

We found that the balcony flooring wasn’t well maintained, there was a beer glass left on our window sill on arrival and the room got quite stuffy in the night so the only option was to sleep with the patio doors open. Opening the doors helped and made for a lovely nights sleep. The dinner was well served but no hand towels in the women’s washroom and when I spilled my water no one helped wipe it up (it was just left there on the floor). That said, we were more so disappointed that whilst the breakfast was great, the staff didn’t offer a 2nd coffee or come to check on us after giving us our food.

A beautiful property with history and unique spots throughout, restaurant has a nice atmosphere - a fun concept of choosing any 3 dishes to form your meal, and the breakfast was very well done - one of the better hotel breakfasts we’ve had in the Netherlands. The room was also very well sound proofed with the double doors. Topping it off, it was great that they are also pet friendly.
