We had a gorgeous time in Amsterdam, the apartment is lovely, such a treat to stay in an old style Amsterdam house on the canal. The bed is very comfortable, there is great views out onto the canal. The little added extras were appreciated e.g., coffee, biscuits and rituals minis in the bathroom. The place is central, very easy walk from the station and into the old town. The hosts were really lovely and attentive, gave us a couple of recommendations for places to eat when we arrived quite late which were great! The cats are so cute too! Would definitely recommend this apartment and would love to come back if we are ever in Amsterdam.

You need to be quick checking the bike traffic, not a case of ‘ look left then right then left again’. do that twice.before you crosss any road. But cars and taxis are quite polite.

The location was spot on and pretty much in the middle of the main area within walking distance to all the major areas of interest and bus/train area. the little apartment has excellent use of space and the amenities all catered for.

The apartment is so beautiful! Love the architecture and artistic details. Really lovely. Location is close to everything but not in the middle of the madness, perfect. Also loved being greeted by their beautiful cats. You have to walk through their home to get to the apartment. And you need to make sure the cats do t get outside or into your apartment. I loved that but some may not. Host was very kind and helpful!

The only minor drawback was the creaky floor, which made me a bit uncomfortable as I was worried about disturbing anyone staying below us. However, I assume whoever stays downstairs is likely used to it.

Kalkmart Suits is located in a lovely and strategic area. The location is peaceful, yet close to all the main attractions tourists seek when visiting Amsterdam. The apartment is not only comfortable but also offers a unique experience, allowing you to stay at the top of a traditional Dutch building (be aware you will be climbing stairs). The view of the nearby canal and the Montelbaanstoren Tower is a delightful bonus, especially while enjoying a coffee. The hosts are wonderful! We felt truly welcomed in their beautiful home. I will definitely come back to Kalkmart Suits.

The 4 flights of very tight spiral stairs made getting the bags up difficult, but what can you expect when you are experiencing a many hundred-year-old, traditional canal house. Being such an old house, the stairs and floor were creaky. The bathroom could have done with some new cabinetry.

The view and location were brilliant. The apartment was well equipped. Our hosts Veronika and Tobias (and the cats) were very welcoming and helpful. Great to experience a traditional canal house.

Very Loud sump goes off every time you run water or flush toilet. Cleanliness was ok ( bathroom corners not so clean), was not clear when booking that this was in a basement unit, 1 window. Only once booked was it known what unit we had. Dampness /smell an issue.

Great location, on a quiet pretty canal with everything in the city that you need or want to visit being walkable to. Tobias is a lovely helpful host. We loved meeting the Cats too.

Location was phenomenal to an area of the city that offered all kinds of opportunities. Restaurants, public transportation, historic sites, shops, pubs, & local flavor. Extremely quiet & safe neighborhood, but still on a scenic canal. Accomodations were extraordinary - clean, comfortable, cozy, decorative, & well equipped. It felt like Home.

I had a wonderful stay at this apartment. The location is fantastic, with easy access to local attractions and amenities. We had the basement apartment and the owners had a family party in the main apartment above on the first night; it was quite noisy. The owner was nice about it and apologetic but it was a yellow flag for the basement room. Also of course no view from the basement, to be expected.

Good location in a quiet and charming residential area not too far nor too close from the station. Reasonably well appointed given the space. Friendly staff.

The location was amazing and we could walk everywhere. The hosts were also lovely and in the "reception" area there were 8 lovely cats that we could come in and pet. The room was also really cozy and equipped with everything we could need!

Very good location close to everything. Host was great allowed my partner to check in earlier due to a flight cancellation. Will definitely stay again in the future. Just hope it's available as its usually fully booked.

Low lighting at entrance

Amazing location, and Tobias was an awesome host! We had the lower room. The bed and pillows were sooo comfortable. There is a coffee maker,tea pot,fridge, and an induction stove top. They are so thoughtful in making sure we had water in the fridge after such a long flight. They also provided some juices. I used booking.com taxi service and scheduled our to and from airport service. ( note: when u arrive, go up to 2nd level for pick up & u will need the whats up app to communicate with the taxi drivers). If you have physical limitations, I would not suggest this lower room. Kind of steep stairs(3)..low light. When u arrive, just look for the cats in the lobby window.... it looks like your going into a private house, and can be confusing... but, just email or call and they will help you. We arrived late and it was no problem as long as you notify them of your arrival time.

The room was exactly what I was hoping for - cosy, spacious and private. The building itself had the authentic look of Amsterdam which was really nice. When you look at it from the outside at night the ambient lighting mixed with the decor make it look proper. The cats are pretty much always looking out too lol. It was situated a few blocks away from the main area which was nice when you could have separation from the busy night life. There was 7 beautiful cats who welcomed you each time you came in but unfortunately you can’t let them in to your room but not to worry. The stairs are tight and steep so beware but you will get used to it. I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to experience Amsterdam properly.

Nothing not to like. Like all traditional houses in Amsterdam, the staircase is steep and narrow so you need to go carefully.

This is an apartment at the top of a beautiful canal house, only a 10 minute walk from the train station. The location was excellent, away from the busy areas but not far either. The apartment was super with a comfy double bed, shower room and kitchen area with dining table.

The stairs take a bit to get used to but were ok. The glass shower screen didn't close properly and would wet the bathroom floor.
