Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

TurkeyThe only thing that might be problem is the apartment had some issue with the heater we when arrived. Termostat is fixed to 17-19 degrees, so even though you arrange it to above 30, it goes down automatically. This might not be a problem in summer for sure, but in winter or autumn the apartment can get little bit cold. To be honest I got a flu on our first night because it was super cold inside. But anyway, Devi is really considering host, she put so much effort to fix the heater, managed to deactivate the termostat, and other days everything was super good.
We stayed in this cute apartment in April, everything was super clean, Devi was very kind and helpful host who put everything we might need in bathroom, plus she has left a bottle of wine for us in the fridge! The location is incredibly central like you can walk anywhere around centre of Amsterdam.

United StatesThe stairs were steep for a couple in their 70’s especially with the amount of luggage we had. They weren’t a problem at normal times as were coming & going. Jolien helped us with our luggage which she didn’t have to do.
All the many little touches, the Stroopwafles at the kitchen table plus water & beer in fridge plus the lovely postcard greeting us made us feel very welcome. Jolien herself was so very warm & friendly. She went above & beyond to make our stay comfortable. The location was excellent, within walking distance to several restaurants & main attractions.

Clean, cute, spacious. Great beds and nice and long. Great for tall person. Definitely Dutch charm. Nice private deck, we would have loved in great weather. Central location, surprisingly quiet. Walk everywhere! Jo is very organized, we didn't need to bother her with anything, but she was available if needed. The bathroom was fantastic good shower pressure and lots of hot water.

Everything! Jolien has a beautiful home, it is very comfortable, and clean and feels like a home away from home. Jolien does not miss anything when it comes to having everything you need whilst you're there. The location is spot on! Fantastic! Easy access to all the best shops and markets and she even leaves recommendations on where to eat, visit and things to do. I would highly recommend Jo's place 100% and will definitely stay again should we return to Amsterdam.

United KingdomI'm hard pushed to think of anything....but....we noticed a slight mechanical noise, a kind of muffled banging, which we suspect was pipes or a boiler that went off a few times an hour in the night. We got used to it very quickly and assume most people won't even notice but it could be bothersome for very, very light sleepers.
Warm and cosy room (we stayed for a few chilly days in November), decorated with bags of character. The room is spotlessly clean. Jo is delightful and has thought of absolutely every little thing that you might want during your stay. Shampoo, blankets, some snacks, tea and coffee - you name it, it's all there! Even a cute souvenir cupboard. The location is perfect - in a quiet street but walking distance to most things. Would we stay here again? - absolutely!
