Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

RomaniaIt was quite noisy, we could hear other people running and laughing late at night (no outside noise though); The room was really small and had a strange layout.
The hotel is placed really close to the city centre & tram station; We had the room cleaned every single day; Very nice personnel, we arrived earlier than the check in hour and we were able to store our luggage for free (also after the check out); We had coffee and tea on the house; The supermarket is really close; The beds are really comfortable.

United KingdomOn our first morning there was no hot breakfast left, no plates, and staff were not helpful when we asked if more would be coming. This was 8:30am and breakfast not due to finish until 10:30! Although beds and room tidied well each day we could detect no vacuuming was done.
The location was excellent near to trams and buses and short walk to museums that I wanted to visit. The beds were comfortable and the area was quiet.

SpainWe didn’t notice there’s no frigobar inside the room when doing the reservation. That’s a huge negative point, together with the fact that the rooms are super small. Maintenance at the detail level on cleaning the toilet is also a negative aspect, a bit of mold in the shower and some dirt on the sink (again at the detail level) - I also had to ask for toilet paper that was already at the end when we arrived.

CanadaI was traveling with two seniors. The stairs leading to our room are extremely steep. There's no European adapter for borrowing and the one USB port in our room didn't work. I don't think there's a ventilation fan in the washroom. We air the room each morning.

IrelandI would have preferred a full double bed rather than 2 single beds, but it wasn’t much of an issue.
Location was great - around a 25 min walk from the city center but plenty of cafes, restaurants etc nearby. Room was way more spacious than advertised, really clean, plenty of storage, nice bathroom, beds were very comfortable. Late check out is also an option (for a fee) which was great. Would definitely stay here again!
