Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomLocation is a little bit further from the centre but not a problem as the surrounding area was lovely and we didn’t mind the walk. Shower was a bit inconvenient as no towel hook so a bit difficult to shower with friends in room.

Great location - about 20 minutes by walk from city centre. Green and nice area around the hotel. The hotel's staff were super polite and friendly. Room was clean and all facilities were on good level. Good "budget" option for Amsterdam.

BelgiumThe room really isn't immense, which is okay for 1 night. The bathroom was in the corridor, with only shower ammenities in the room. It's not the end of the world, after all.
The location of the Hortus Hotel is excellent, not in the center but really close to it. The staff are easy going and friendly, and the installations are correct for the price you pay.

SingaporeThe walls are thin and noises from other guests returning late at night woke up me at times. I stayed on the 3rd floor and it was an exercise heaving my luggage up, but for amsterdam accoms prices, this is very value for money.
The room was small but had everything I needed, including hair dryer and kettle. Room and shower are clean. Hotel is conveniently located near the tram stop.

United Arab Emirateswell, there should be some free coffee at least, even just 2 sachets just for welcoming the guest , or even hot water atleast . because in our case, we bought the hot water from the machine in the lobby :( we did ask the reception if there's atleast free hot water but there isnt.
Well I like that the room itself is comfy , and the initiative that we have our own sink is better, as its easier for us to brush or wash our face and the toilet is just beside our room .

AustraliaSound travelled very easily and other guests talking kept us awake. The bed was very uncomfortable. Really needed a bathmat. The stairs are very steep - almost like a ladder, but this is part of going to Amsterdam!
The location and neighbourhood is lovely and really quiet. It is located near a big park and woke up to birds in the morning. Room was spacious with a big window. I was aware when booking that it the toilet was outside the room so this was fine.

AlbaniaWe didn't really mind it but just a heads up the toilet facilities are shared for the whole floor, only the shower is private. This being said don't worry about the hygiene as the bathroom was always clean.
The hotel had a great location, very good and quiet neighborhood yet very close to the center of the city(Around 15 min walk, and also very close to a tram station (4 min walk)) The room was very comfortable and clean. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them again for accommodating our needs when we had to change our booking. Initially I had booked a triple room, but had some changes last minute and only two of us made it, when I contact the Hotel they were very understanding,helpful and managed to change my booking extremely fast. The lady that works at the reception is very pleasant and polite. Over all a very good experience and so worth the money considering the prices on Amsterdam.

GermanyThe stairs. Though the staff was apologetic about making us stay at the top floor, there is no elevator in the hotel. So, be ready when you get the chance to be at the top floor rooms. Honestly, it wasn’t that bad. It was a great experience.
Great location, 5 Minute-walk to the tram station. The room is tidy and beds were comfortable after a long-day walk. I love the designs of the hotel.

Nice location.green. quiet area though got lost a few times finding my way home.hot radiators great as was freezing cold and wet the whole time end of april..comfy small bed good.room ok though thin walls and next to batroom.but was fine.
